This has been a long running on off project that I am now
unlikely to be able to use due to health issues. I am still working on it, so
if someone comes, likes it & has the cash, I will sell it.
Sorry but I am not interested in offers or swop messages by email & will
ignore emails that just ask for those. I am adding pictures as & when I
can, but don’t have the ability to add them to emails.
So come & look at it if you are interested. It’s on a
hard standing at the back of a large farm near Thorney Postcode area PE6. I’m
there most afternoons, I will need to escort you as the yard is alarmed, So we
will need to agree a time/day, best by email.
55ft all welded steel 10/6/3 with a Cruiser Stern. Never been in the water.
Shot Blast from gunnel down & primed with high zinc primer. Then painted
with 2k commercial vehicle twin pack so properly protected just needs a coat of
blacking which I have, before it goes in the water.
All other steel, Inside & out was cleaned, wire brushed & painted with the
same 2k all weather paint, both Engine bays in white.
From the outset, I wanted a light bright airy interior, headroom is comfortably
over 6ft & panelling is painted grey or beige throughout. There are 4
skylights frames welded in the roof that need covers. 3 solar operated roof
vents fitted & a single 80w solar panel, connected & working.
I designed it for me to live in full time with space for
the occasional guest who would share my bed.
Cabin area 40ft long, fully insulated with spray foam.
Panelling, 95% complete is 2k painted beige birch wood ply. So very easy to
keep clean. All edged with an African Hardwood called Iroko.
99% of all fixings are threaded screws or bolts that
screw into tapped or nutsert threads.
Ballast: 2.25 tonne, cast concrete between the 4″ steel welded angle iron
framing that forms the floor base & braces the 10mm base plate to the 6mm
side plates every 4ft. 2 of the bays are empty, 1 midships & 1 at stern.
Plywood covers with over 50% then covered with hardwood flooring. (I have more
flooring, probably enough to complete it)
Basic layout is:
Small front deck, covered by kratch, has a small engine
bay with lift off Iroko hatch for generator & bow thruster. then.
Double glazed hemlock doors into Bow bedroom with 4ft
windows either side & 3 large drawers. A fitted 4ft wide x 6ft 6″ long,
fixed bed solidly built out of birch ply, with the main internal water tank
under. Tank is 4mm steel with baffles, painted inside & out & 2ft x 2ft
x 6ft.
Central area: One 4ft window & a double glazed pair. Floor to ceiling
wardrobe over 3 large drawers forms part of the bed headrest. So the main
living area is about 12ft long, needs hardwood flooring laying, has a double
glazed sideways opening twin window (escape hatch) & a table fitted in one
corner that hinges down when not in use.
I planned to have a free standing leather recliner + one
stool table. TV aerial mounting on roof & lead in place.
Double width Prity wood burning stove with oven then
Kitchen with fitted sink, gas hob & oven then
Bathroom which is at the bottom of the steps, that come down from the rear
deck. There is only one door, the bathroom one & it would be quite major
work to modify much of this layout. The bathroom includes a hip bath, (needs
fitting) a 12v macerating toilet, a black waste tank, basin, radiator &
airing cupboard. Beside the stairs is a boxed in Stainless steel drinking water
tank & tool storage boxes under.
Rear deck, Iroko covered, white painted engine bay under.
Engine bay has Exhaust box & prop shaft fitted, twin keel water cooling tanks
& 3 hydraulic pipes that run through insulted sides of cabin area to front
engine bay which has a large bow thruster pipe fitted.
I was going to install a modern VW 2 litre diesel fitted with a hydraulic pump,
side to side, so I could climb down into the bay. I have most of the parts
needed, including the Engine, Pump & drive motor. I will give the buyer
these FOC if you want them. They would need assembling/fitting.
It would however be easy to fit a normal in-line ie front to back, engine &
gearbox if you preferred.
You could live on this boat quite quickly. There are bits of finishing work,
but the bed has a new mattress, the lights work & the plumbing is all in
place. The amount of finishing work will depend on your choices to a large
degree. I think I could/can finish the bits this summer, but I have a serious
breathing issue that slows me down rather a lot.
If you are interested, please email me via Ebay, with your tel number to come
& look at it, I’m will add pictures to the listing, as & when I can.
Please note I often find talking on the phone challenging, but can text when I
have a signal.
For your info, I moved my boat here 6 months ago from the barn it was in. The
crane cost me under £500 (on & off) & the lorry £100. Or if you are
local, the farmer might let you work on it where it is, if he likes the look of
you, thought you would be no trouble & paid him some rent.
I tried this advert just after I moved it and got
overwhelmed with countless messages from lots of people who talked the talk,
but only one who wanted to view. She told me she liked it but didn’t have the
DIY skills to finish it ? Time is too short these days for me, I think my
description is good, but if you are planning to spend £25,000, then you will want to come and look at it. I
look forward to that.
Current Price: £25000.00
