Welcome to the Sky Blue Boat. This truly one of a kind houseboat has a lot of history – it was built in 1918 as a commercial vessel with crew quarters in the bow and was reconditioned in the 1960’s into a houseboat with a main living area. According to it’s historical papers it has made various journeys in and around Europe and has been modified and maintained to a modern standard. It’s one of the biggest boats on the London canals and stands out compared to other boats. The boat has 3 main internal spaces. The upstairs wheelhouse seats 5 people and is where the original wheel and navigation equipment is still in tact. Downstairs is an open plan living room and kitchen area with hob, washing machine and running hot water. Unlike other boats, the walking headroom height is substantial at 6ft4inches. The living room has big windows with a newly fitted opening side hatch which I have never seen on a dutch barge and is very useful. It also has a skylight which opens entirely.A sliding door separates the bedroom where the newly refurbished shower and brand new boiler is located (fitted by a gas safe engineer). There is a separate toilet for a cassette toilet (the boat is set up so it can be easily converted back to a sea toilet or a pump out. In the double bedroom there is a cupboard for storage and two more opening wooden double doors.Under the bow there is a large space for storage also. In here the electrical system is located. There is a modern Victron 70amp charger converter with Multibus linked to 12 2v 540ah cells. This can be charged by 1 of 2 ways – the x2 240v solar panels or if it’s not so sunny, the petrol or LPG generator. It’s an amazing system worth £10k alone. If you know anything about marine engines you’ll know that the Daf 475 65HP engine is one of the best engines you can find on any boat of this size. The previous owner was a mechanic and this engine has been very well looked after throughout it’s lifetime. This was originally a commercial vessel and the engine is much more powerful than any canal boat allowing it to cruise at 10 knots on tidal / coastal waters (it can easily handle the Thames River). I have crossed over the channel to Europe on this boat and have also cruised 12 hours per day for weeks and it is a rock.It has just come out of the water, had some overplating work completed by a very good welder, blacked and has a brand new hull survey in which everything is above the 4mm.Very sad to see this boat go! I’m selling as I’m moving country with my partner – I’ve had so many amazing experiences on this boat I really hope it can go to someone who will continue to use it creative powers! It currently has no mooring as is continuous cruising – it has all the inverter attachemnts to go to shore power for a mooring.I am able to do viewings next week – please text me on 07704422110 or email = email@example.com to arrange. Thanks for viewing!Specs:60ft x 13ftair draft: 2mdraft: 1m12v and 240v electricsx2 240v solar panelsintegrated victron ppt controller / 70amp multi charger converter with amp and soc gaugex12 540ah BAE systems batteries (the best imo)brand new boiler supplying hot water to kitchen and shower4 ring gas hob and ovenwashing machinex2 generators – LPG and petrolanchormulti-fuel woodburnerdiesel blow heater in bedroomengine – Daf 475 with reserve and night fuel tankscassette toilet
