23 foot Norman cruiser project. This boat has had a wooden structure fitted to allow the occupants to stand up in the craft with plenty of headroom in the centre and rear section. The project was originally purchased to turn into an environmentally friendly live aboard. The intention was to fit an electric outboard to the craft, pushed by a 58lb motor, powered by solar panel charged batteries (ENGINE,BATTERIES,SOLAR NOT INCLUDED). During tests with a Bison 58lb electric outboard (NOT INCLUDED) the boat pulled well and was easily controlled at a range of speeds.Unfortunately funds and Covid have stalled the project build and I now wish to sell her as an ongoing project. The hull is watertight, but there is a small ingress of rain water, during periods of heavy rain. The boat was built in the 1980’s and has age related scuff marks and would benefit from a lick of paint. The centre cabin has been solidly constructed, and is insulated and lined with pine tongue and groove. The roof is constructed of wood, fibre glass and a rubberised water tight paint. There is no engine included with the sale, but the controls are still in situ, which will allow the fitment of a petrol outboard if so desired or as intended an electric outboard could be fitted to the controls, this would require adaption to the electric outboard. The craft is cheap to insure and licence, and is currently licensed as a continuous cruiser. There is NO MOORING! included with the sale and it will be the responsibility of the winning bidder to either find moorings, remove the boat from the canal or continue its use as a continuous cruiser. Continuous cruiser status requires that the boat is moved every two weeks at least 1.5km from its previous mooring. The craft currently has no electrics fitted, so it will require rewiring. This is a fairly easy task for anyone with a basic knowledge of 12v electrics or a willingness to learn. There is a kitchen area, which is ready for a sink, taps and gas cooker to be fitted, This area has been tiled, painted and there is a solid wood work top in situ. The boat comes with a cassette toilet system, which is housed in a small cupboard area. The front section of the boat does not have increased headroom, but is a fairly comfortable living area, with room for storage and those important creature comforts. The sale DOES NOT INCLUDE! the small wood burning stove shown in the pictures! The rear section of the boat was the intended sleeping area, and has room to comfortably sleep a six foot adult and also allows plenty of room for storage.I am a live aboard boater, who continually cruises, so would be happy to answer any questions related to the lifestyle or if advice is needed to further complete the project. The boat is currently moored around the Trowbridge area, on the Kennet and Avon canal. Viewing is recommended. There is no reserve.PLEASE ONLY BID ON THE BOAT IF YOU ARE 100% COMMITTED TO ITS PURCHASE!
