At 55’ long and 12’ wide “Amethyst” is an exceptional barge. Built
over two years to exacting standards by Ventcroft the barge was finished
and placed onto the water in 2018 at a cost in excess of £250,000. The
barge benefits from having exceptional artwork completed by the
experienced and influential canal boat artist, Phil Speight.

The specifications and finish are second to none and need to be seen to be appreciated.

Mechanically the barge benefits from an Axiom Propeller driven by a 7
litre, Iveco Beta engine showing only 50 hrs. There are two inverters
providing 8 kw supported by deck mounted solar panels providing 1.7 kw.
The barge has a 240v ring main and has two varta 1200 Amp Batteries. The
electrical design and installation was completed by Inteletek. All
wiring diagrams will be supplied to the winning bidder and will be
available for inspection at any viewing.

The barge is twin berth benefiting from two comfortable single beds
in the bow however; it is designed to cruise with six passengers who can
easily be accommodated in the bow or stern seating areas both of which
have hand finished bespoke canvas covers for poor weather cruising which
can easily be removed and stowed when the sun is out for all the fair
weather cruisers.

In the cabin there is a generous kitchen which boasts an electric
induction hob, integrated twin Zanussi oven, full sized sink, LEC fridge
Freezer and microwave with plenty of cupboard and drawer space. There
is a wooden fold down dining table tucked conveniently in the passageway
to the well-proportioned lounge which can accommodate a sofa or a
couple of armchairs. There is a built in electric heater with real
flickering flame providing all the benefits of a mutli fuel burner
without any of the inherent risk. There are cupboards for stowage and
conveniently located double sockets for a wall mounted television. LED
lighting, which can change colour, are recessed into the sparkle finish
ceiling.

Through the lounge, there is a utility room/bathroom with a full
sized shower and toilet. There are twin 800L water tanks one for clean
water and one for waste water with a good-sized water heater providing
almost instantaneous hot water at good pressure. A full sized washing
machine is located in the utility room, which also boasts additional
cupboard space and a full sized kitchen sink.

The bedroom follows through the utility room and provides exceptional
accommodation for two adults. There are two single beds with wardrobes
and drawers providing all the space required. There is also additional
storage under the built in step to access the beds. Double doors
featuring stained glass open into the bow seating area.

The wheelhouse has state of the art equipment to provide effortless
cruising through the accessible canal network including, Beta Marine
Engine start/stop and engine display panel, Beta Marine, information
panel with analogue dials, Beta Marine bow thrusters, iCom VHF Marine
Radio, iCom Class B AIS Transponder MA-500TR, Victron Color Control
Display showing electrical and battery status and Vetus speed control
and trolling gear control. Also includes Yacht Router WiFi and Boat
Warden Alarm.
