15ft rowing dory skiff professionally built in Tarbert during September and October 2019 to John Gardner’s plans of a historic Chamberlain dory skiff. This is the second boat I’ve built to these plans and I’ve made a few improvements based on my experience with the first. Built with 8mm Robbins elite marine ply and SP systems epoxy resin. Frames, stem, stern knee and gunwales are laminated Douglas fir. Transom and knees are re-claimed mahogany. Oars, anchor and metal fittings are re-claimed from a previous boat of the same design and show some wear and tear but are sound and fit for purpose. Her shallow draft and strong bottom panel (16mm total thickness) make her ideal for beach launching and she’ll sit well on any flat bed trailer. Her fine lines and narrow waterline beam make her very easy to row. Her low freeboard doesn’t catch the wind and makes fishing with handlines very easy. Selkie is currently afloat in Tarbert, Loch Fyne. Sea trials before purchase are encouraged. Just launched after a full re-finish and change of thwart layout, this boat is in as new condition. I have a small launching trailer that I use with this boat, I’m happy to include it free in the sale but it will probably need some work to be roadworthy. Modifications can be arranged at my usual rate. Commissions for similar boats considered. This boat is listed elsewhere and may be removed at any time. Any reasonable offers considered.
