Pleasure Boat Seahawk 17 (Pedro) With Trailer & 9.9hp Outboard
Here we have a lovely 17ft Boat which comes with a road/launch trailer and Mercury Thunderbolt 110 9.9hp Outboard
When I bought the boat I was told it was a Pedro (Seahawk 17) Boat
I bought the boat as a lockdown project as I have always wanted to bring a boat back to life. I have spent 100’s of hours locked away in my workshop working on her and most of the hours have been a pleasure to do and enjoyed them all. (I can send pics of what it did look like if wanted just give me a shout)
When I bought her she was named “Red Lady” I have removed the decors so new owners can rename her
Started by power washing the hole boat inside and out and washing off all the dirt and grime away. Then sanded the hole of the boat down to a workable state (took me hours and used about 50 sanding discs lol), then washed the boat back off.
Once the boat was dry and started the long painful job of painting the hole boat, starting with the red underneath using the special boat paint where you have to mix 2 tubs together to make the special under boat paint which finishes with a plastic type film finish (3 coats applied)
Then moved onto the white paint for top half of boat, I used a recommended water proof plastic type coating paint (4 coats applied). Also fitted a new led front marker light (green & red)
Ripped out all the wooden tops all tiles and everything else that was in there, Hand washed the inside to get all the dirt and grime off, then using the same white paint as outside (4 coats applied), then made all new wooden tops using waterproof coated ply board and painted with waterproof floor paint, re-tiled the sink/cooking area using heavy duty tile adhesive, painted the floor with grey waterproof floor paint and also used on storage cupboards etc.
Then moved on to the electrics which I ripped all out and put a brand new 12v heavy duty leisure battery and put new 12v cable to all electrics including a new switch panel with cig lighter socket and 2 USB ports for charging phones etc. Also comes with a very good quality fish finder which has been wired to switch panel.
Mercury thunderbolt 110 9.9hp
Unsure of year but would guess 80’s/90’s
This is the only part of the boat that I haven’t done much with it, only really cos I’m good at a lot of things but I’m no good at all with engines. have put it on the back of the boat and put it in a large tub of water and it started up on 2nd or 3rd pull and ran it for a couple of minutes and it seem to run fine with everything with it including tiller with reverse gear. Also have a old throttle cable and control in case some one plans to put a steering system on it.
As you can see I have sanded the trailer down and repainted in a grey metal paint to match the floor paint on the trailer. I have fitted a brand new boat winch to the trailer with 4.5m strap on it, but most of all I have replaced both Indespension units (cost a fortune) but worth it to be safe, I have added a spare wheel (it isn’t new but would get you out of a pickle) the wheels and tyres and the same ones used on Ifor Williams p6e trailer (called floatation tyres) so easy to replace or get spares. I have added 2 tie down hooks on the trailer above the wheels for ease when securing the boat to trailer.
The paint alone cost me over £500.00 but wanted to put the right paint on
The boat and trailer has been fully refurbished (by me lol)
The boat set up is ready to tow away (you will need a long lead light board) and straps (I will provide straps if I can find some kicking around) so once you have these things then it’s ready for the water, I do wish I had time and place to launch it myself as I would love to have a go in it after all the hours spent on it but I just don’t have time so hoping who ever buys her will send me some pics of her in the water plus I have just bought a new project so going to be very busy for rest of lock down lol.
I have tried to be as honest as I can by listing everything I can remember even though they will be loads of things I’ve forgot to say but think I have gone on enough already lol
I am not out to make 100’s of pounds profit just out to get one I have put in it plus the price of the boat of course and a little bit for my time spent even though if I charged for every hour spent it then I wouldn’t have to work for rest of year lol.
This is a genuine boat with a lot of love and graft gone in to it so would only want it to go to some one who will look after her.
PX poss for Trailer, Quad, golf buggy etc (try me lol)
Collection only from Everingham which is a little village near Pocklington, East Yorkshire, between York and hull
Viewing is more than welcome but please only come view if you are serious buyer as I have wrapped the boat up under a tarpolin and took the outboard off to dry store. Of course if you do come to view/buy we can put the outboard on the boat and put in a tub of water to show it working etc.
Cash or bank transfer only
Thank you for looking and see last pic for my contact details or msg me through eBay
Of course with anything 2nd hand there is no warranty or returns accepted
I’d just like to say I am not a boat engineer I am just a diy’er who enjoys projects so I can’t give warranty or returns on the boat set up but I can sell knowing it has lots of money spent on it and hours of love, sweat and the odd tear lol
