No reasonable offer refused.
Bonwitco 400C. Comes complete with engine, trailer, and a
few bits of ancillary equipment. There is no reason why the boat can’t be put
in the water and used straight away.
I currently have the boat up for sale due to my storage being lost. I am looking for storage for it at the moment, so it may be removed if I do find somewhere suitable to keep it. Also, it is advertised elsewhere so may be removed at any time. Feel free to ask any questions, I will do my best to answer them straight away.
The boat is a 1972 Bonwitco (With) 400c ‘unsinkable’
16ft. For a 50 year old boat, it’s in great condition. It could do with a lick
of paint if you’re fussy. There is a GPS and VHF antenna & Nav lights on
the roof. Plenty of cleats and tie points. Two adjustable folding seats with no
rips or tears. There is a S/S ladder at the rear, if you fancied jumping in the
sea at any point (ladder works a treat ?).
Engine is a 2 stroke Evinrude 30HP elec start long shaft,
which is mounted and linked to steering and throttle controls. It was last
serviced in March. It has run for around an hour since. It will include fuel
tank, hoses & battery. Plenty of compression & bags of power, it goes
in and out of gears very smoothly. Pumps water very well. Always flushed with
fresh water after use. It had new plugs & impeller on the last service, but
I’ve got a few extra sets here if I can find them.
The trailer has seen better days but is structurally
sound & perfectly useable. It’s a single axle unbraked galvanised type,
& tows very very well. It has had new wheel bearings, winch, hitch, lock,
& jockey wheel. New bow stop fitted, but the new rollers I bought didn’t
fit so they were sent back and I never got round to buying the correct ones.
There is also a trailer board. Towable on a car license (cat D).
There are bits and bobs to go with it. An aux engine
mount fitted, An anchor, a nice Suunto marine compass, new ropes, engine muffs,
new fenders and lines, VHF radio, Garmin Fishfinder with transponder fitted,
two brand new self-inflating life vests, life rings/MOB lines, several rod
holders, original fitted seat cushions for the cuddy, some life ex flares, new
Claytonrite rubber window seals and a tool for fitting, a full tank of fuel, a
bottle of decent 2T oil, gel coat & fibreglass cleaner, a bag of oxalic
acid crystals, and anything else I can think of…
It is a very manageable boat, easy to launch and retrieve
on your own. Perfect for a first boat, and with a lick of paint it will look
stunning. You could literally put it into the water and go, as I’ve said there
is loads of ropes and it’s full of fuel. Viewing is most welcome, even if you
only want to see it for some inspiration. Engine can be started, I’ve got a
water supply where it’s currently stored. I’ve also got loads of videos of the
engine at sea, and of it being purged/flushed after use.
The boat is NOT new It is NOT showroom condition. Feel free to make an offer.
Please feel free to ask any questions, or give me a call. Thank you for looking.
