Make/age unknown but it looks similar to a Dell Quay Dory.
LoA excluding outboard: 13ft
Drought (Hull): Approx 1ft
Add another foot for the outboard (3ft if fully raised for transport) and 4 ft of trailer drawbar.
Rugged design, very stable platform, lots of space for its length. Used primarily for estuary wildfowling hence the paint job. There are hinged storage lockers at the bow and in the thwart/seat. The centre console is aluminium with space for spare fuel cans and a small compartment in the front for keys radio phone etc. There is an auxiliary outboard bracket fitted. There are cleats mounted inboard one at the bow and one on each aft quarter. The deck is sealed and self draining into a small sump at the rear, which intern has a drain bung out the transom. Rubbing strake in vgc, it was renewed a few years ago and is well fixed on with stainless bolts.
There are quite a lot of scrapes and dings. Abraded wear from beaching etc on the keels. There are some cracks at the bows on the topsides (see pics). Despite this the Hull is sound and watertight.
Mariner 40hp 2 Stroke
This engine is in excellent condition for its age, unknown hours and age (I’d say 90’s) but anyone who knows outboards will take one look under the cowling and know that it has had very little use. It is very clean and still has the original grease on all the linkages etc. Been in a barn and hadn’t run for 3 years so I stripped and cleaned the carbs – they had never been removed previously as far as I could tell. The engine starts and runs and pumps water perfectly. The fuel was drained out again after. Few chips on the cowling itself and the prop ideally wants repairing – although it’s not really noticeable when motoring, it is absolutely fine to use as it is.
The boat sits on its road legal purpose built trailer well on bunks and rollers. There are recovery guide posts fitted which are great for single handed recovery. I’ve replaced the wheel bearings (and it’s yet to enter the water) so it’ll be 100% good to tow as far as you need to. I’ve also fitted a new jockey wheel and clamp. The hitch is in good condition. The winch is mechanically in good condition, the catch is good and the gears all work freely, would benefit from a new strap. Tyres are fine. Mudguards are sound. The trailer chassis could do with a lick of paint but basically the trailer is good to use as is.
Steel Mariner 24 litre fuel tank and fuel line. Ratchet strap. Kedge anchor, chain and warp. 1 x 18 meter mooring line. 1 x aluminium and plastic paddle. 1 x manual roving bilge pump.
A very practical and versatile little boat, she’s capable of around 25-30 knotts, great for fishing/diving, general work/support boat. Could be used for towing toys or water skiing if fitted with a D or eye through the transom or possibly off a rope apex formed off of the existing rear cleats. She’s light enough for one person to wheel around on the trailer on good ground. Easy to launch and recover, decent simple (pull start so no battery etc required) reliable engine and on a decent trailer ready to be used. All the hull damage is cosmetic really. Viewings welcome. Engine can be seen running. Located near Redhill, Surrey. Call me on 07474250265.
