The Bonwitco 14 ‘Cuddy’ is a compact, efficient, stable Dutch fishing/angling/family boat with an excellent reputation throughout Europe as a sea kindly craft that is easily driven by a small outboard motor. Whilst this example is structurally sound and could go to sea without any problem, it would benefit from having the orange cuddy and the deck repainted, plus new upholstery on the seats. There is an opening hatch on the forward part of the cuddy/cabin making anchor deployment/recovery easy (no need to precariously walk around the cabin) and there is a ‘whale’ bilge pump aft. The Mariner 5hp is the more modern quiet running 4-stroke model which is totally reliable, extremely economical and pushes the craft comfortably against the tide etc.( can be seen running) The outfit is complete with a trailer (not the one in the pictures) and is fitted with ‘Mini’ wheels, making it easy to launch/recover on soft surfaces such as sandy beaches etc.
