This is not a project, but a fully commissioned and beautiful traditional gaff rugged classic boat ready for sailing and adventures. Sweet Promise is a traditional Fifie, 35ft length, built on the East Coast of Scotland in 1931, designed to go out in all weathers in the North Atlantic. Solid, strong and safe. Fully restored by John Greenaway in 2010-2014 (keel up rebuild costing more than £180k, no expense spared because he owned Traditional Boat Supplies, so was fitted out with only the best available kit) with a Shetland gaff rig ketch arrangement, set up for single handed sailing. He covered several thousand Atlantic sailing miles, from Iceland down to Brittany. Larch planks, oak frames, and solid pine deck, more recently maintained with deck and hull repairs, full out of water survey available (3 years) she is dry inside and very comfortable. Mitsubishi diesel heater. She is powered by a 3.8 BMC commodore diesel engine (comes with a complete spare aswell), standard horizon Chart plotter linked to auto helm steering, AIS, VHF radio, New sea legs. New batteries and German solar panel. Powerful bow thruster. Two complete sets of modern sails, one heavy material, the other light. Expensive diesel oven which also heats water. She is reputed to have been owned by Buster Crabb (the WW2 frogman) in the early 1950’s. Currently berthed at Faversham. The asking price less than half of her insurance valuation, and a fraction of her restoration costs. Am only selling because I have too many other classic boats. Shortly due to be taken out of the water for winter storage ashore at Ironwharf boatyard in Faversham.
