Mayland Fisherman 16 boat, Maria Sheralea. Fibreglass hull construction and is 16’ 6” x 6ft 6” .
Fitted with a four stroke Honda BF 9. 9 hp outboard with remote controls & large external fuel tank. Easy pull start, idles nicely, engages forward and reverse easily and pumps water well. Runs on E5 unleaded fuel, and being a four stroke engine doesn’t require you to mix oil with the fuel. Far more dependable than a two stroke motor. I have a barrel of water and can demonstrate the engine running. The engine was serviced before I bought it and has seen no use since. Started first pull of the cord after being stood for over 2 years.
The boat is equipped with 12v battery which powers the navigation and cabin lights. The battery charges from the engine when running. It has a 12v power socket (so you can plug in your phone USB charger) Thetford porta potti and a portable gas stove. There’s also a sink on deck which is handy for keeping your tinnies on ice ( or washing your hands) There’s also an electric bilge pump with automatic float switch. There’s plenty of seating space with vinyl covered cushions. The captain has a folding seat with storage under.
It was freshly painted and anti fouled just before I bought it in late 2019 . It had previously been moored on the Norfolk Broads and was called Penny Cat
I bought the boat in late 2019. Covid hit, and it just sat under a cover. Unfortunately it’s never even seen the water in my ownership.
Inside the cabin could maybe do with decorating and some covers for the seat foam. It has a removable roof hatch.
The canopy is showing it’s age in places but does it’s job of keeping the rain / sun off you. The sides can be removed independently.
Has matching fenders all round and the previous owner fitted a complete new rubber rub rail. There’s also a retractable auxiliary outboard motor bracket mounted for adding a small back up outboard if you wish
Comes on trailer with recent new cable winch. Trailer is old but solid and tows nicely. Will require a number board for towing on the road. I towed it 60 miles back home when I bought it and it towed perfectly.
Overall a very nice looking boat that’s ready to go, I think it’s the best you’ll find at this price.
