Up for sale is my usable project boat. She’s a Shetland 535 from the 80’s in structurally sound condition, just needs a light tidying. I bought this recently without consulting the boss which was a school boy error and to be totally honest she hates it! Doesn’t like the look, colour, the space it’s taking up, me, etc, so it’s easier to sell it to good home while I still have full hearing abilities. List of things I’d have done had my life been worth keeping it: engine cowling could do with new paint and graphics as it’s scratched. The engine runs but not easily as the previous owner used a dirty fuel can and to much 2 stroke so a new fuel cell or a good clean of the existing one and a service, but turns freely and ran when the carbs were cleaned and I put a temp 5 gallon fuel can on. New anti foul paint on the bottom is needed and the cabin needs completing. The wood in the cabin is roughly cut to shape but needs finishing. Lastly it needs a new jokey wheel but these are only 10-20£. Structurally, she all good and so is the trailer as the bearings were changed a few months ago. The main things that need doing are just cosmetic paint but aren’t essential and could happily be used as is. As she’s 17ft there’s loads of deck space for fishing and the cabin will have more than enough space to sleep 2 should you want to over night anywhere. There’s also a solar panel on top with the control unit in the cabin, a good battery and a bilge pump. The engine is a Mariner 40hp 2 stroke with electric start on the key. The tiller is still attached (just disconnect internally) as a backup to the steering but the throttle and steering is currently controlled from the wheel up front. The impeller has been changed so pumps water lovely when running and the steering cables are new. Please don’t expect a new boat, she’s not, she would benefit from some TLC but Shetland are incredibly well built and stable boats which is the reason I wanted to do it up, it’s just not worth what it will cost me in a divorce and it’s to small to live on ;0)Your more than welcome to view it prior to bidding but please don’t waste my time, if you bid and win, you own it! The boats will require work, the engine may require a fettling and the trailer will need tyres in the future SO PLEASE EXPECT THIS!! Cash on collection from Hedge End. Happy bidding people!
