Welcome to my auction for my 12 foot speedboat/ fishing boat project. This boat was manufactured by HYDROCRAFT BOATS in Penmaenmawr, North Wales. Not sure of the age but probably 1970?s.
The trailer, originally a snipe, has had some new rollers fitted and comes supplied with mud guards, one temporarily fitted and one not fitted. The trailer could stand some paint but is solid. The tyres need replacing. There is a working winch but the spring that controls the pawl is missing. As shown in the photo, the snubber has broken off the winch post; If you can weld, it would be fairly easy to just weld it back on. The boat is strapped down and could be towed as is. There is no boat cover or drain hole plugs.
The boat has no engine or engine controls. There is a steering drum and cables fitted and they could be put to use. I originally used a 4.5hp engine with this boat for trips on the river Dee but progressed to a 50hp engine for quicker trips at sea for fishing.
Supplied with the boat but not fitted are 2 high back bucket seats. A bit tatty and rusty but definitely worth fitting if you are intending fitting a big engine. In the photo?s, the seats are loosely put in place but not bolted down.
The plywood floor could do with replacing. It was replaced about 15 years ago and is still fairly solid but starting to de-laminate. There are some cracks and small holes around the rear deck / engine well but the hull is solid and has no leaks.
