1990 Avon Supersport S4.65Up for sale is this nice commercial spec’d Avon RIB, the RIB and outboard are 1990 and I believe the snipe trailer to be original and of a similar age. This was originally used as a safety boat and is ideally suited to a similar role due to the large open deck, the hull is in good condition and in original gel coat. The orginal treadmaster flooring is also excellent. Transom is very solid as to be expected from an Avon. It will take a 70hp if required. The hypalon tubes are a but sun bleached, but with a days TLC and liquid RIB spray I am sure the colour can be bought back brighter. They hold air pressure 100% all seams and vales are good. There is a fairly large repair patch on the starboard side (pictured) and 3 smaller patches, all of which seem sound. It is missing a couple of Avon logos. The RIB has been barn stored for the last 5 years so the engine will be due a service. It fired up today with some fresh fuel, ran okay, selected gears and pumped water, it would certainly need a carb clean and tune up however. It is a 3 cylinder yamaha 50hp, manual start with autolube and gas assist tilt. The bunked snipe trailer is good and solid. It tows well, there is some rust and it is missing a mudguard. I have just fitted brand be wheel hubs and bearings and the tyres are good so it is ready to tow.Overall a good quality setup, but it is 30 years old and has not been used for at least 5 years so it’s not perfect. I would guess in mint condition at the moment something like this would fetch at least 5k. It would really lend its self to be fitted with a centre console and a newer engine with power tilt, this was my original plan. But equally it would be a shame to lose all the deck space.£250 deposit required upon purchase and the balance to be paid in cash or bank transfer. Collection evenings after 6pm or weekends.
