This is my fathers RIB that he has owned since 2009. It is a
7.2 meter Ribtec from 2006, it is a Pasco high deck model. My father purchased
the 225hp Optimax saltwater Mercury about 5 years ago which is a great
combination for the spec of boat. The engine has been regularly serviced
throughout our ownership. The last service being less than 5 hours ago. It is
quite rare to see them with black tanks. Named the Black Pearl its quite suited
for the boat. She really does fly! Even with weight she rides the waves very
well, stable at high speeds. A testimony to the hull as there is no chime
hopping or any concerns in any sea. The hull is not antifouled and was not
purposely by my father, he prefers the gel coat finish. You can see the hull is
in great shape.
The engine currently has a 23 pitch stainless steel prop and
being the saltwater version a lot of the internals are stainless steel. The
engine is still a 2 stroke which makes it a lot lighter than the 4 stroke
alternatives. The engine has always run faultlessly and maintained by M T
marine in Portsmouth, a Mercury specialist. The engine has always had
everything it needs doing done to it.
The trailer is a RM road trailer which is galvanised, the
trailer is a single axle and tows very well. Its quite a large boat being 7.2
meters but we have towed it with both a Discovery and Range Rover with no
problems at all.
The boat has all the usual features. The Raymarine plotter
GPS was just serviced replacing the board and screen. Lockable cubby boxes,
anchor, mount for smaller outboard on the back, ladder, radio and more. It is
ready for fun.
My father had a heart operation back in 2016 and since then
he has not used it as much as he would have liked. He got a full season out of
the boat in 2017 but this year we didn’t get as much use from it as he is still
recovering. My father always kept the boat at the Hamble or Port Solent on the
dry stacks. This ensured the trailer did not go in the water and that the boat
was not left sitting in the water too, it was always jet washed off after every
use.
As the boat was not used as much this year and dad still
recovering from the heart op he has not spent as much time tinkering with it as
usual. There are a couple of bit of trim that could do with cleaning up and the
deck could do with a deep clean, other than that she really is ready for the
water.
The price is for the complete package, trailer, boat and
engine. Can be heard running. 07825 760409
