Selling my beloved inflatable Seasearch 390 Inflatable,
Tohatsu 9.8 and Trailer
Polished and nurtured like a favourite child, my Seasearch 390 is for
sale. Regrettably, my age is taking its toll and I am finding it
harder to handle on my own. As a boat, it is brilliant for launching
just about anywhere; it’s easy to tow and so versatile – beach or
slipway. The trailer is fitted with wider tyres to facilitate sand
launching, and also fitted with removable ramps to make recovery
easier if alone. The engine is a Tohatsu 9.8. It is not new but has
only done 50 hours. When not in use on the boat it is kept in my
workshop. It is flushed, washed and polished after each excursion
before zipping into its protective cover. It is a fourstroke, which I
can just about lift to install, and quite capable of planing the
boat. It is also happy just ticking over while trolling, and very
economical. The fuel tank has a restraint beneath the seat, and there
is a pair of paddles.
The boat is fitted with an aluminium floor and inflatable keel, and
has a thwart, and multi-pocket seat cover for the storage of flares,
fishing tackle and all the paraphernalia that seems to appear when
boating. Attached to the thwart are two removable fishing rod
holders. There is also a CQR type anchor and chain with 50 metres of
anchor warp and buoy.
A hand operated bilge pump is attached to the transom and ensures a
dry deck at all times. To facilitate easy re-entry into the boat from
the water (i.e. swimming or diving) two rope handles are fitted near
the bow.
The boat also comes with a navigation console. This is made from GRP
and is waterproof. It has an acrylic screen and a waterproof access
hatch to install a battery. It is completely removable and attached
to the aluminium floor with clips so that the helmsman can see the
plotter/gps screen while handling the outboard. A compass is included
in the sale, which is attached to the console. I currently have a
Lowrance Elite TI2 9” Plotter which is set up with a three-in-one
transducer, full UK mapping and a Lowrance Point 1 heading sensor;
all connected on a NMEA 2000 network. The console is included in the
sale, but I wish to keep the electronics, which are not included in
the sale. However, it may be possible to come to an arrangement.
The trailer is purpose made for the inflatable and is a
roller-coaster design with bespoke attachment points to hold the boat
securely.. The wheels are alloys on fat tyres and the jockey wheel
has double wheeled inflatable tyres. The hubs are not braked. There
is also a bespoke security device which would need securing to the
ground. The boat also comes with a pair of removable launching
wheels.
This boat is an ideal vessel for diving, fishing or just general
boating fun and would make a perfect entry level boat. It is
versatile and smart; complete and ready to go. A trailer board is
included, so all you need is your own number plate.
