This is an auction for a 1/12th share in Spellbound, a 58ft 1997 Pat Buckle narrowboat currently moored at King’s Orchard Marina. As a shareholder, you will be entitled to 4 weeks/year which is chosen by a booking system. The allocation for this year is: 8/2/25 – 22/2/25 (2 week block) (YES, JUST A WEEK AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS!!!)3/5/25 – 17/5/25 (2 week block)(We chose 2 week blocks for this year, to give further cruising opportunities and you also gain a day, because the middle Saturday is yours to enjoy the boat instead of being a turnaround day). Turnaround day is Saturday. Typically the boat is ready from 2:30pm and you are required to bring it back by 9:30am.The boat is a semi-trad stern with a Nanni diesel engine, diesel central heating, multi-fuel stove, conventional layout with extendable slide out double bed (to king size) in the rear bedroom and 4 further berths making it a 6 berth total. The middle double is converted from the dinette and in addition there are 2x singles at the front which are converted from armchairs. It has a pump-out toilet and shower in the bathroom and a U-shaped kitchen.In addition to our pics, please refer to the listing on the BCBM website https://www.bcbm.co.uk/boats/narrowboats-page-84.html for more interior pics and specifications, noting that the heating and interior decor have been updated recently (some of their pics and info is a little out of date). The boat has very recently come out from its winter maintenance.As a shareboat owner, you will be required to pay a monthly contribution (by standing order) to the maintenance, which is currently £160/month. And there is a syndicate agreement to sign and abide to (copy can be sent for perusal if needed). Gas and coal/logs/kindling are paid for out of the syndicate budget but diesel and pump-out are paid by each owner. Also part of the agreement is the boat is valeted after each owner’s trip, this is booked with the Marina. In addition the owners have a lively WhatsApp group to share experiences and boat-related talk.It is currently located at King’s Orchard Marina, which gives good access to a variety of cruising rings and destinations, including the Avon Ring, Leicester Ring, Black Country ring, Birmingham, Warwick, etc. It is a small-medium marina with full facilities available.Upon winning this auction, there will also be an additional £60 to pay to BCBM for their handover which they will take you through before your first trip. We will send the keys, owner’s manual, marina info (gate access codes, etc) and a copy of the syndicate agreement to sign.Any further questions, please feel free to message and ask.
