Robbie is a 27ft steel hull narrow boat / canal boat and was built around 1980, by Dartline Cruisers.As you can see from the photos this boat is being sold as a project. She was moored in Birmingham when we bought her in 2014 and we moved her to our local Bridgwater & Taunton Canal. Before we took her down to Somerset, we had her taken to Alvecote Marina Group, where she was placed in a dry dock, pressure washed, hull scraped, 2x coats of Teemac marine coating and 4 x anodes 2.8 kg were also fitted. In 2017 she unfortunately sunk, due to bilge pump battery failure together with heavy rain. Luckily the canal was shallow, so she sat on the mud and we pumped her out and took this opportunity to remove her from the canal to our farm, with the intention of a full renovation. We have not tried to start the Lister SR2 air cooled
engine (the traditional phut, phut, phut). Due to many other projects, she is still sat waiting, so we thought we give someone else the opportunity. This lovely lady has been and still is very loved. Although built around the 1980s, she has the style and character of a much older boat (please see photo of her in the water), which is what we fell for when we first saw her. It was love at first sight. We have added two interior photos from the days before she sank to give you an idea on how cosy she can be. For a relatively small boat she is surprisingly spacious. She has outdoor seating areas both at the stern and the bow, which was something that we especially wanted. Inside there are two benches, with storage underneath, that can be turned into a double bed. There is a kitchen, a built in wardrobe, separate toilet area and space for a wood burner. The boat is stored in an easy access area and we have two experienced nationwide haulage companies in the area that we have used, that we can recommend. Sold as seen. No returns.
