36 foot cruiser stern all steel narrow boat. Would make an ideal houseboat or day boat. Recently surveyed (September 2017) and the hull was noted as being ‘very satisfactory’. It has only lost a maximum of 0.9mm metal in its 40 years on the water. Never been overplated, just blacked regularly. Was last blacked and out of the water in September 2017 when new anodes were fitted too. It also had a new rudder and stern gland fitted at the same time as it was showing signs of rust. The BSSC was renewed then and is valid until October 2021 (Certificate number BSSER-339089/17). The engine is a Bukh dv20 two cylinder diesel which is very reliable and happily got us from Northwich on the Trent and Mersey to the Rufford branch of the Leeds – Liverpool canal, which is where she is currently moored, over 5 continuous 8 hour days. The mooring does not come with the boat but there are a few spaces in the marina now that it is the middle of summer so I am sure that you could arrange to keep it there if you wanted. If you prefer to continuously cruise then the CRT licence is very cheap at £74 a month. That would be your only regular outgoing.
She has 2 water tanks, hot water provided by a Morco d61b, 4 burner gas hob, grill, 3-way fridge (although only connected on 240v at the moment and I’ve never tried to get the gas running on it) and 6 double mains power outlets.
She doesn’t have a shower but that is because we were going to live in the marina and use the ones provided there. She could probably benefit from a wood burner too for the winter months. We are selling her as we are expecting our first child and just can’t see a use for her once the baby arrives.
She has cratch and tonneau covers and all ropes, electric cables, mooring pins, windlass and lock and handcuff keys will be included, so she’s ready to sail!
Collection is from Fettlers Wharf Marina on the Rufford branch of the Leeds-Liverpool canal. There’s a ramp at the marina opposite (St Mary’s) if you wanted to lift it out of the water to put onto a trailer for transport.
She was built by Springer Engineering in the early 80s (surveyor thought 1981) when they still had a good reputation, and this hull’s quality testifies to that.

When entering from the large, cruiser stern you have a small toilet/services area to your left. You also have shelving running for nearly two metres on your right with a kitchen worktop covering it all. There is a lot of storage here for kitchen equipment as well as other personal belongings. In the main galley space you have a sink with draining board, 4 burner gas hob with grill, a three way fridge and more storage under the worktop again. Passing forwards you have a dinette on your right which is 1.80m in length so could be transformed into a single bed. You have the Morco water heater on your left and then an empty space for nearly 2 metres on the left hand side. There is 6ft of headroom through the middle of the boat. After the dinette you have a tall storage area for hanging clothes. Towards the far end of the cabin you have two bench seats with under seat storage. These, if joined together, are the size of a double bed (140*190cm). Through the double doors you have a small area at the bow with the larger of the two water tanks and a seat to the port side.
I should add that she has some splashings of grey primer paint on her roof and port side from where I used the roof to paint on. I will try to remove it before she sells but I cannot guarantee this.
She’ll have over half a tank of diesel still but it can be bought from the marina too.
