Introducing HENRY – a 40 foot canalboat with BMC engine and
traditional stern that needs substantial work.
This is your chance to benefit from my stupidity !
I havent got a hard copy of the report yet, but I’m told the hull base
needs overplating. See the attached screenshot of the survey. I was told there
was no survey or paperwork when I bought it, but someone who knows the boat has since contacted me and told me the truth. I’m gutted. We put everything we had into this, so can’t afford to do the work on top.
We are pretty handy people (having converted a couple of campers)
so knew we could do the internal work required (reseal windows, relay floor,
fix broken glass in door etc) quite easily and cheaply. In fairness we would probably have stripped it out and made it a gorgeous boat through love and graft, rather than money. But what we cant do is
afford the hull work. So my hope it that by listing at a start price of 99p, this is a really affordable prospect for someone else. I will be super grateful for anything you offer as I have lost my entire savings on this boat ? Actually £17.98 would be nice as at least that would cover my ebay fees ?
It was previously listed for much more, but that is before I knew about the survey and I can’t in all good conscience, sell dishonestly.
All that said, Henry is a lovely boat and will be a gem once the
work is done.
Its a traditional stern.
Dual Central heating works from BOTH
the diesel engine and log burner.
Has both 12 volt and 240 volt electrics.
Space at the front for seating by the log burner, kitchen area
with sink, full bathroom with cassette toilet, shower and sink.
Bed pulls out to make a full double and has the hot water
calorifier underneath.
Round windows to the rear, larger rectangular ones at the
front. Gives a good balance of privacy and light.
There is also plenty of diesel included and half a bottle of
gas…oh, and the cable for hooking up to shore electricity if you use a
Marina.
