50′ X 11.5′ Widebeam Narrowboat Liveaboard | London *under Offer*

Advertised on September 5, 2021

Mendieta – A 52 x 11.5′ widebeam liveaboard – currently on Lower River Lea, London. Mendieta has been our home in London as continuous cruisers for the last few years and is the perfect boat to live on year-round. She has been lovingly refitted throughout and can now be enjoyed by her new owner for years to come. Please note, Mendieta does not have a home mooring and is being sold as a continuously cruising vessel. INTERIOREntering from the stern deck, you will find a large, open plan living space with ample room that can accommodate ‘land furniture’. She has a large 4kw stove which heats the entire boat easily and is also great for slow cooking and keeping the water warm in the kettle! The hearth is complete with hand-painted Mexican tiles. The kitchen has solid oak worktops and a huge range cooker (5 ring, double oven) so you can always be the host with the most. The kitchen is fitted with a baby belfast sink and fridge-freezer (for summer or shorepower) along with plenty of boater friendly storage. The flooring has also been newly fitted with easy to clean vinyl tiles, which can be removed in two sections for further bilge access. The kitchen is also where you’ll find the boiler, which was completely refurbished and refitted last year. It produces instant hot water and copes easily with the shower or bath.In the kitchen and living area solar filters are on the windows, so it doesn’t get too hot in summer and retains the heat well in the winter.Further down the hallway, the bathroom is on the right-hand side, through a Shoji-style sliding door and features a pump-out toilet, a hand-hammered copper sink set in a stunning mahogany side and a roll-top bath with copper rain-shower. The ochre coloured honeycomb tiles were made by hand and give the space a really special feel. The bathroom floor is laminate to prevent splashes leaking into the bilge, all the walls have been waterproof treated. Finally, the bedroom which features one of our biggest labours of love: her beautiful sapele and jarrah floor. Only 4 boards were replaced in 2019, the rest is the original floor after being carefully restored and varnished. The room itself is large and comfortably fits a desk and chair alongside a kingsized bed for a dedicated office space (the signal strength is also great in this half of the boat, unlike most steel vessels). She has plenty of shelving set into the wall for a home library (and an overflow bookshelf in the hall if you need more space!) This room also features William Morris curtains with thermal backing, keeping you toasty right through the winter! The wall to window ratio also makes this an incredibly bright space.EXTERIORMendieta has a trapezoidal front deck, suitable for storage, planting and summer lounging. The rear deck is far larger giving room for firewood/fuel/general storage whilst still providing the main point of access to the vessel and navigating point. Access points are from front and rear decks with a hatch above the rear-deck door. Mooring bollards are found 4 points on the rear deck and 2 on the front deck making mooring options plentiful.Propulsion is provided by a 50hp Honda 4 stroke outboard, with wheel steering and helm controls. Can be spun on the spot, making turning without winding holes possible in places not available to most boats of this size.Fully overplated (5mm on baseplate and sides to above waterline) and blacked in 2019 with fresh anodes.Double glazed windows towards stern and secondary glazing toward bow, recently resealed where necessary.Roof is GRP and has recently been refreshed with repairs (one of the benefits of GRP) and repainting. Anti-slip coating throughout making the entire roof walkable, very handy for navigating awkward locks. 4 solar panels are on the front centre portion of the roof.Flues for multi-fuel stove and water-heater are removable making all bridges and tunnels in the London area navigable, however, most do not require this precaution.FACILITIES*Water – 450L total water capacity (linked tanks) under front deck – Single front deck filling point – Shureflo 55 psi pump with accumulator tank – Tank level gauge in kitchen- Recently refurbed Rinnai boiler*Waste – 315l tank under rear deck – rear deck pump-out fitting – Electric macerator toilet*Energy – 4 x 250w panels on roof – 8 x 125Ah 12v leisure batteries (fitted 2017) – Outback flexmax 80A MMPT solar charge converter – Cotek 2kw 12v inverter – 12v led lighting – Circuit breakers on all 12V items (lights, bilge pump, toilet, water pump, inverter, solar charge converter) – 240v circuit with sockets throughout – 12v whale bilge pump (automatic) – 60A Portable Power Tech batter charger (very fast charging and reconditioning)A Honda – EU20i – 2.0kW Portable Generator is also onboard and can be included for an extra fee.OTHERLast BSS certified in March 2020Last Surveyed 2018, with all recommendations completed in 2019Last blacked 2019Please note, Mendieta does not have a home mooring and is being sold as a continuously cruising vessel. __________VIEWINGS: Initial viewing via videolink possible.
