As
mentioned in the condition the owner of this boat for the last 30 years has
unfortunately passed away and whilst his son was filing for rightful ownership
the boat was unlawfully guttered. You will see from the last two photos the
condition of the boat prior to his death.

I am
advertising this boat on behalf of his son and mother as a friend of the family
who has lived aboard canal boats for the last 14 years. As such I’m in a better
position to write the description and advertise the boat in this difficult
time.

This boat
is a 1970’s 50ft narrowboat originally undertaken by Dale Craft. The boat has a
Lister three cylinder inboard diesel engine which is positioned under the
wheelhouse. The boat is in good condition for its age and has recently been repainted.

The hull
is steel fabricated, the cabins sides and top are moulded fibreglass set on a
wooden frame. Alloy
windows installed on both sides of the boat.

The
galley is pretty much there and has a water pump, sink/drainer and gas hob/oven
installed. I was not able to test any of these when I looked at the boat boat but
look likes with minimum work they will be back up and running if not straight
away.

In terms
of electrics, there has been 230v shoreline and there are multiple sockets in
the boat. Unfortunately when the boat was guttered they took the 230v socket
off the side of the boat and the wires are exposed awaiting a new socket to be
installed. Because of this I could not test the sockets. There seems to be one
leisure battery installed on the boat with a 12v wiring loom looking in
reasonable shape. Again I could not test this as the battery requires charging
and with our shore power this hasn’t yet been possible.

There was
a lockgate diesel stove installed which has unfortunately been removed, the diesel
feed to this is still in place if you did want to reinstate a diesel fired
stove.

Lister
SR3 inboard engine is installed currently not running. The engine is coupled to
a stainless steel drive shaft through a semi-flexible coupling.

The boat
has 3 years left on its boat safety certificate.

The boat
is currently moored at Castle Marina in Nottingham City Centre with a
residential bank side mooring which may be transferable.

This boat
would make for a fantastic starter boat or cost effective living solution.

This boat
is sold as seen and any viewings are more than welcome.

The boat
is accruing mooring fees which require paying asap so this boat must go. With
this in mind I have suggested to the son and mother we start the bidding at
£2000 which covers the mooring fees owed to date. NO RESERVE THIS BOAT MUST SELL!

yourself a bargain home/project.
