ZHODINO: 50ft fully fitted out narrow boat. 2 berth (small double) + small visitors bed in the living room (sofa). Unusually large covered terrace area (welldeck). In the summer it’s also great to sleep on (fold out double bed sofa). It has been a beautiful home.

Built in 1990 by bespoke boat builder Mick Cull and refitted with American white ash. Previous owners lived on the boat on hard-standing between 2019 – 2022 and during this time surveyed/blacked/painted/re-conditioned engine.

I’ve done a lot of work to this boat over the last 2 years:

New marine ply subfloor in the living area

Solid Bordeaux pine t&g flooring throughout/natural fibre rope edging for expansion gap

Solid ash and oak surfaces and shelving throughout

New 4.5kw Morso Defra Squirrel 1412 woodburner/flue/chimney/Bath stone fire surround (November 2022)

New Shoreline marine 12/24v 87L fridge with 11L freezer (July 2022)

2 x new Caldwells sliding windows in the living room (November 2022)

Timber framed natural canvas roof and sides on terrace

New Sterling 600w inverter (March 2024)

New Victron BMV 702 battery monitor (March 2024)

Boat Survey: Last surveyed in November 2019, can provide full digital survey and post survey. Boat was then out of the water until May 2022, so has only been in the water for a couple of years since a decent survey…which is why I’m reluctant to sort logistics for a current survey for this sale, as isn’t necessary given the results of last survey, and the wear on the boat since.

Hull & blacking: Hull last blacked with 2-pack epoxy in 2022, which is massive benefit, as not necessary to take the boat out of the water every 2 or 3 years as per standard bitumen blacking. 2-pack epoxy generally lasts the double:https://calcuttboats.com/blacking/

Boat Safety: Certificate passed June 2023, valid until June 2027.

Engine: BMC 1.5, regularly serviced. Spare starter battery. Twin alternator (charges domestic batteries when in use). Good amount of storage in the engine room.

Gas locker: Capacity for 3 bottles, boat comes with 2.

Water: 800litre water tank (below welldeck). This is a brilliant size, unusual on a 50ft narrow boat.

Heating:

4.5kw Morso Defra Squirrel 1412 woodburner and stove fan.

Central heating from Alde flow gas boiler (2 radiators which heat the boat well). I have never ever had to use the radiators since installing the wood burner. Absolutely no need, it stays very warm in here. But I have left the radiators installed in case there is preference for that in the future.

Alde boiler also heats hot water for shower and taps.

Digital heating control display panel in the living room.

Electrics:

12v power throughout

12v USB port in living room and bedroom

240v sockets in living area and on terrace

Sterling pro power pure sine wave 600w inverter

Shore power set up

Victron BMV 702 battery monitor

Epever solar controller

350w solar panel

2 x trojan 185ah leisure batteries, in good health

Exterior: 2- pack epoxied

Other interior details: Thetford gas oven/Gorenje gas hob/brass fitted LED lighting/solid brass portholes/anodised aluminium sliders/side hatch/roof hatch/Kildwick compost toilet with oak finish/Jabsco water pumps.

Recommendations:

Nothing urgent, but I had intended to repaint the roof in the summer…but summer rains, and then winter came… So I just vactaned (rust treated) some surface rust, as vactan both treats and primes, and buys time. So yes, some rust spots on roof and stern/bow which I would recommend doing, and usual dings and scratches that you’d want to paint at the same time. But nothing major. I had also intended to paint the gunnels in the summer, but same same with the rain rain. So, that’s why they’re bit patchy from colour testing.
