57′ New Narrowboat Shell. Never Been In The Water. Bereavement Sale.

This 57′ Narrowboat Shell has never been in the water. It was built by a steel fabrication company for the Director. Unfortunately he passed away just before it was completed so it has sat on hardstanding ever since. It has been built to a high standard and has some very nice finishes/additions. I’d say it is 95-98% finished, the only things left to do would be to get the doors made, a weed hatch lid and a sliding hatch. I would estimate a welder could do all of these for maybe £1000.My plan was to get these things finished and finish the primer/blacking etc as well as maybe get the inside spray foamed. Time restrictions and poor weather have delayed these things so I thought I’d see if anybody was interested as is at a cheaper price.It has never been in the water so all of the steel thicknesses are as new. It has surface rust as it sat for a couple of years in probate untouched however this is superficial and my plan was to remove/treat this with vactan/fertan before priming inside and out. I’d estimate this would take maybe 3-5 days if I was to do it. The blacking is also only half finished because of the rain on the day we did it! I priced a new engine (Barrus shire £6-7k and windows and spray foaming, maybe £400). For just over £35k you could have a very nice sailaway if you were willing to put in the effort to finish the shell so potentially this could be a bargain for somebody. It is unregistered so would be a 2024 boat.The boat is based near Hull, East Yorkshire. Viewing welcome. My plan is to get it in a good presentable condition over the next couple of weeks if the weather is ok and the jobs finished.
