Reluctant sale of Vanguard, 60ft 1974 narrowboat. Moored at
South Island Marina, Ponders End, North East London. This boat has been
restored and has been a lovely spacious home for seven years.
Front well deck:
Fold down table. Gas locker in prow with connections for two
gas bottles (enough space to store a 3rd if desired). Anchor and
chain stored here. 100 Gallon water tank.
Saloon:
Crafted interior dark wood detailing with painted walls. Teak
flooring throughout. Brass low power LED spotlights, anglepoise and fittings
throughout. Made to measure black Venetian blinds. Aarow Acorn 5 multi-fuel
burner, Ecofan, burner fitted with back boiler which runs via hot pipes throughout
boat to the cabin radiator on gravity fed system. Storage locker behind front steps
with Shurflo AquaKing2 Water Pump. 12v and USB wall mounted sockets. Vintage

Shower wet room with wash stand basin and cabinet. Dometic Sealand

Hinged door into Cabin:
Free standing vintage Beeanese cupboard, chest of drawers, shelving

Hull Fully re-plated, March 2010. Sides 5mm, Bottom plate
6mm, Stern Tube, Rudder Tube and Counter plate renewed. Carried out by AMF Auto

Blacking and anodes 2013. 7 day craning for DIY blacking booked September
2018 at Lee Valley Marina, Stanstead Abbots.

There is an option to continue renting the mooring at South
Island Marina, subject to the approval of the mooring manager, where the
facilities are: water, electric, diesel, pump out and Elsan, gas, coal, logs, post
and parking. The mooring makes a great base for exploring the Lee Navigation
and the Regent’s Canal. Being registered with a mooring enables you to
circulate in the area you want, without having to comply with the Continuous
Cruising guidelines for travel – this is a great bonus. Local shops and station
a 2 minute walk away from the mooring with regular trains to Tottenham Hale for
the underground (4 minutes), Hackney Downs (12 minutes) and Liverpool Street
Station (20 minutes). Hertford in the opposite direction. This location is on
the River Lea so it is possible to have a half price CRT River Only Licence.
