Sadly, due to ill health we find ourselves having to sell our fabulous 57′ narrowboat: Tayburn, moored on the Leeds Liverpool canal in Adlington, Chorley. We have our own permanent mooring with a 60′ x 12′ decking area and top garden of 60′ x 40′ (approx)*. This kind of space is a rare addition to any mooring and, as such, makes this a real opportunity for someone looking for holiday home or liveaboard status on the cut! She even comes with an outdoor twintub washing machine, fire pits and log store!
Built by John Whites of Liverpool with a Beta Marine 1500 engine, plus inverter, a semi-trad stern and a roomy 202cm head height, she was freshly painted and had her hull blacked only last year and will be sold with a safety certificate, valid until July 2020. Only 10 years old, Tayburn has served us well during our 8 year ownership and is in great condition having had a log burning stove fitted 2 years ago and a full internal revamp only last year.
We have just fitted 3 brand new leisure batteries, a new calorifier water tank and installed a plush, click-clack sofa, making her a comfortable 6 berther!
This is a real opportunity for someone looking to liveaboard or for those seeking a holiday home. Ideal for that adventurous couple looking for a life cruising our beautiful waterways or a syndicate wanting timeshare. Adlington village is a real community, of which the canal is its heart.
Do not let this opportunity pass you by! Contact me now for more info/pics or to arrange viewings.
Remember, she MUST sell quickly and that is reflected in the price. Grab a bargain now! Lots of extras included in sale: generator, patio furniture, fixtures, fittings, central heating, TVs etc
Thank you for looking ?
UPDATE, based on clarification of mooring fee enquiries:
*Our mooring fees are currently on a fixed tenure. This will expire upon our move. I would estimate new mooring fees to be around the £1500 mark but that will have to be confirmed with the land owner to whom they are paid. The fee is charged to allow access via his land to the mooring, (it is the only route available), but is also reflective of the size of the plot and the fact that it has a huge garden attached. Owners are able to pay in installments (we currently pay quarterly) so it is not expected in 1 full amount. There is also an option for those choosing to liveaboard, to use the land owners address for correspondence and this is also included within the fee, as is parking space for a vehicle. The landowner has no responsibility to maintain the mooring. Also, if significant changes are made, permission to do so must first be sought from him as the area is registered as green belt.
CRT licenses amount to approximately £1500 per annum and our boat insurance costs us £165 per year.
Additionally the only utility that we pay for is gas, which amounts to about £15 per year.
