I have lived on Max for the past two and a half years, we have grown with each other, she looks after me and I look after her. It has been an amazing journey and I am quite sad to be offering her for sale, however the time is right and I think she is ready for to find a new friend. Currently based on the Kennet & Avon Canal, Max is truly one of a kind. From her spacious dining area through to the beautiful kitchen and into the cosy bedroom, each area has been designed with practicalities in mind. She is a wonderful homely and peaceful space, equipped with everything you need to sail away and start the summer on the waterways in comfort and style. Max is a 40 foot narrow boat who has been recently refurbished, perhaps her most noticeable feature is the up-cycled pallet wood cladding. She has a new and efficient boiler fitted, there is a four ring gas cooker with oven and grill, Belfast sink with drainer, ample bin and recycling space and plentiful real wood work surface. The kitchen has been hand crafted, with soft close draws to save crouching to root around in the back of a cupboard. The spacious dining area has perfect lighting for reading or writing at the well sized dining table with 2 cushioned chairs. There is a shoe rack and coat hangers next to a large book shelf. Luxurious yet modest The wash room is part tiled with an eco shower and a built in composting toilet with separator and plenty of toiletry storage. She has a built in sofa with 4 spacious, soft close draws underneath. The log burner is positioned opposite, perfect to curl up on on those cosy evenings. This sofa has provided sleeping space for a 3rd guest on occasion. There is a double bed with a memory foam mattress and storage underneath. Ambient wired fairy lights run around the sleeping area towards the bathroom, a lovely lighting for the evening when the touch pad lights are unnecessary. From the bedroom, there is a door that leads to the open front area which provides a beautiful morning view. The front area is large enough to store bikes and its built in bench makes it a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. The back area is a comfortable size to sit and enjoy a clear evening with the chimnea to take the chill off. Max has a Lister SR2 diesel engine and a 280w solar panel which powers numerous 12v lights and sockets throughout.I rarely turn the engine on throughout the year as the solar panel is so efficient If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, a copy of the boat survey can be sent over on request. She is in great condition for a 38 year old boat, the hull is in a good condition and hasn’t been overplated. Max will make such a lovely home for someone. Delivery can be arranged, sensible offers will be considered. Points to consider: – Full refurbishment – Recent hull blacking (May 2017) – Recent full survey (May 2017) – BSC until December 2018 – Bullet proof Lister SR2, recently serviced – Starter motor replaced in 2017 – Powerful 280w solar panel from Bimble Solar – Two leisure batteries replaced in 2017, starter battery replaced earlier this year – Full bespoke kitchen refit – Bespoke Kildwick style composting toilet – Recently replaced rear deck boards – New Morco water heater
