This was supposed to be the dream home on the water. The boat was for sale as a ‘buy now, or make an offer’ on the listing below:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186193933021It is now up for auction, starting at half the price! No reserve, highest bidder wins. This vessel is 66 foot long and 12 foot wide. It’s got plenty of space inside and out. The rear teak deck is a large area of 10 square metres, great for breakfast, dining and late evening drinking with friends… watching the sunset on the canal ???? In the pictures the decking is wet from rain, but it all dries to the light colour you see in the main deck picture.Exterior Deck area: 3.0 metres X 3.3 metres = 10 Sq MWheel house: 2.5 metres X 2.5 metres = 6.5 Sq MInterior lounge/kitchen: 5.2 metres X 3.3 metres = 17.5 Sq MBedroom: 3.2 metres X 2.5 metres = 8 Sq MAnchor room: 1 metre X 1 metre = 1 Sq MThere is a petrol generator included, and also LG Solar panels and inverters fitted. But I would suggest it’s going to need rewiring. But it all there and cost the last owner over £3500. There is also a Jotum Betta 3000 wood burning stove that makes for a modern, yet classical, stunning centre piece. These cost over £3500 at the moment, let alone fitting, stainless flue and base plate, etc. The total of this, fully installed was over £5000. This is fully functioning and is used daily. It keeps the boat very warm and cozy!On top of the solar equipment and wood burner, there is other original and additional features, such as air horn (worth over £1500), brass heavy duty portholes, stunning brass lights, hatches and more. It’s got well over £10,000 in features and equipment. There is also a Morco Gas boiler, flag pole, seat, etc… and enough solid Oak 22mm flooring to cover the whole lounge area.Exterior is very presentable and will look amazing on any mooring. It still needs external repairs, some small leaks on the roof (where the solar panel bolts have not been sealed for instance) and painting in places. All pictures are this week, what you see is what you get. No old images used. Video also added. I have more videos, that give walk around of the hull with close ups, full walk around and also interior walk around video. I also have more pictures that can be sent via WhatsApp. CALL GREG ON 07594 98 82 29.This boat was purchased in 2017 for £65000, then imported and skippered from Holland to the UK. It’s a sea going vessel, but more suited to say the Thames or similar. It is currently on the grand union canal in West London. This alone saves the new buyer a fortune. The cost of getting these kind of boats to the UK and even into central London is very, very expensive nowadays. Especially the tax since brexit, it’s now ridiculously expensive to import these. Once back to the UK the boat underwent full hull restoration, being coated in 2 part epoxy paint with a 10 year guarantee. This still has 4 years remaining, so the hull is good. it’s as solid as a rock to be honest, this boat was built to last, and it is! The boat also had the roof extended, over 7 ft inside the main area. The front bedroom was also added. This was all at a cost of over £25000.The boat features a DAF engine and the vessel was manufactured by Stevens, making it a true one-of-a-kind vessel. Whether you are looking for a liveaboard, canal boat, widebeam, narrowboat or houseboat, This Dutch barge has it all. It is also suitable for use in fresh water.
The boat is currently located in London and is available for sale or exchange. With its classic design and charming features, this Dutch barge is sure to impress. The boat does require new plywood floors, they will need to be replaced with new marine ply and the ceiling refitted with cladding. There is plenty of work done though, it has been having work done until last week. I would say the interior could be lived in as it is… just to get you by until you get more work completed. It was a full time house boat for the last 8 years until just 12 weeks ago. This is a project, but one that can be achieved within months… not years! All pictures are within the last few days, you can see it’s pretty much a blank canvas, ready to make your mark on it. It’s like property development, but on water! The engine runs, but you have to manually start it, as in spanner on the starter motor. You can wire a switch to it obviously. It’s a big DAF engine that is reliable and well know engines to be on these dutch boats. The propeller is damaged, think one of the blades is bent. Its a bronze propeller and can be repaired, the blade is not snapped off. The boat moves, it goes forward but slowly. In reverse it moves along better. The best solution is to get the propellor off and get it repaired. Or you could tug it to wherever you needed it to go on the Grand Union or Thames if you have a friend with a canal boat. This boat is big, but it floats well and is stable being flat bottomed. I know a guy who works on the river with a tug boat who could price this up if needed. The boat hasn’t moved much in the last 2 years, but the engine has been started every few months. It will want a service and some love, but its a DAF engine so will out live all us! The boat and engine are very robust. You can also buy yourself some time with the free moorings on the canal. The boat has never been registered on the canal system.Similar boats, with interior complete are fetching over £100,000. And these are great for AirBNB at the moment. Easily £150 per night…. Take a look for yourself. The boat is currently on a private secure mooring, this is not included in anyway. But you can leave the boat here for a few weeks or maybe longer initially to get plans together if required. This is in West London. You could also just dry dock it in the next lock, get the prop off and get it repaired. It’s up to you, but lots of people have done this. I have lived here in a canal boat for 4 years so have a good knowledge of area.Nearest marina is Uxbridge and also Yielding. But you can Google “marina and dry dock” near Hanwell. I know there is a dry dock about half an hour away, believe it’s called Bulls Bridge. So that would also work well. I can help along either way,the marinas also offer tug services so it’s easy to get sorted. You might be like me, and just want it as a liveaboard house boat that doesn’t move, we’ll once every few years at best. If so, then it would be ideal to just get it towed or tugged to a London mooring and get working away on the interior. It’s a cheap and cool way to live in London. It’s not difficult to do, and you can find moorings all over London at the moment. No survey, I have priced it to reflect this. It’s an absolute bargain. I do know its last survey was approx 8 years ago.Viewings in West London, no time wasters. If you do not have the funds ready and in place, please wait until you do so, before you view. If you view and decide you want it, then an initial deposit will be paid, otherwise it remains up for sale. Absolutely no timewasters or dreamers will be tolerated as it ruins it for others.JUST TO RECAP:THE BOAT MOORING IS TEMPORARY, YOU WILL NEED TO FIND A NEW MOORING, OR USE IT AS A CONTINUOUS CRUISER ON THE CANAL SYSTEM FOR FREE MOORING.IT IS SOLD AS AN ON GOING PROJECT.THE PROPELLOR NEEDS REPAIR, BUT ENGINE, STEERING, ETC ALL FINE. JUST A BENT PROP BLADE TO REPAIR.PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION AGAIN BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS, THE ANSWER MIGHT BE ABOVE. IF NOT JUST ASK.This auction ends the day before Christmas eve, 23rd December. Its a 7 day auction. So I am not expecting you to complete the sale before Christmas, but great if you can! I am expecting a deposit of £2500 to secure it until the New Year. This would make a pretty awesome Christmas present on that note! ????.
