For sale is the gorgeous Bramble. She’s the cutest and most quirky little boat on the canal and has been mine and my dogs home for the last two years.
Bramble is a 24ft narrowboat with an inboard engine built in 1991. She sleeps three with a permanent single bed made up in the stern, and the sofa converts into a double. There’s a small bathroom with a cassette toilet, sink and shower. The water is heated by running the engine, this takes 15/20 minutes to heat more than enough water and will stay hot for hours. I’ve found that her water tank will last for two weeks or so once filled.
Bramble has just had her hull blacked and had four new anodes fitted. Her BSC is valid until 2020.
Bramble is the most economical boat I’ve lived on having had to only fill the fuel tank twice in two years. She has a two ring gas cooker with a grill and oven and a three way fridge freezer. Her batteries are topped up by a single solar panel on the roof which powers the lights and inverter. Her Nanny engine had never let me down, starting first time every time even on the coldest winter days. It’s so easy to keep warm and cosy in the winter with the wood burning stove which heats the whole boat as she is so compact.
Mooring and winding have never been a problem due to her size as she can tuck into most spaces between boats that others can’t.
Bramble really is a special little boat and has served me very well over the last two years being so cheap and easy to run. She’ll be sold with a full gas canisters that should last for at least 6/8 months.
The reason for selling her is because I’m getting married and want to start a family so need more space.
