Are you looking for something different?
Well here is one for the enthusiasts!
‘Hubenita’’ a 65ft Trad narrowboat with 6
berths.
‘Hubenita’ was built in 1987 as a
replica of a traditional narrowboat by Colecraft Engineering and expertly
fitted out by John Woollard of Wharfside Boat Fitters in Wolverton. As such
this unique and stunning narrowboat not only features a traditional boatman’s
cabin painted with roses and castles but also has an original immaculate Russel
Newbery 18bhp engine. Despite its nod to times gone by, Hubenita is far from
lacking in modern comforts and as such would make a perfect home on the water
or fabulous holiday home for those wanting to cruise the Inland Waterways –
this boat has a fabulous traditional layout with plenty of storage and sleeping
options for up to 6 guests and really must be seen to be appreciated.
‘Hubenita’ comes equipped with everything
you need to start cruising straight away and has been restored and maintained
to a high level by the current owner who is also a marine engineer! She has a
very recent hull survey which was excellent, and the boat was re blacked at the
same time. The survey is available to peruse when arranging a viewing. She also
comes with the reassurance of a full 4-year B.S.S Certification.
The boat has a trad stern, with steps down
into the boatman’s cabin. Here there is an Epping multi fuel stove and oven for
cooking your dinner whilst you cruise! The cabin is painted with traditional
roses and castles where the cupboard doors form a kitchen counter, a double bed
and a small single bed – exactly as it was in the working boat days. (in fact
the whole family would have lived in this entire space!)
From here you also access the engine room
featuring the aforementioned Russel Newberry engine which is painted in red and
green and floored throughout. There are two side hatches allowing the whole
world to not only admire but also hear the wonderful sounds from this sought
after engine. From this area there is a door accessing the main living area. On
the left is a beautiful shower room tiled in white with a white sink mounted in
a vanity unit. The boat currently has a Thetford portaloo (with spare cassette).
Folding doors allow access back into the corridor. From here there is a double
bed and wardrobe and radiators under the gunwhales a door leads to the kitchen.
The kitchen has a range of built in
cupboards and drawers a large white ceramic sink, shoreline fridge and Stoves
500dit double gas oven in green. The kitchen has a peninsular unit that forms
the back of the corner sofa that can in also form another double bed for
guests. There is a swan hatch with steps to the exterior and the saloon
features a very unique built- in bureaux – great for working from home or
penning your memoires whist on the water! To keep this area warm there is a
Morso Squirrel stove. There are two more upholstered seats by the double bow
doors which then lead into the cratch which has a pop- up table and a full
cratch cover in black, great for dining or breakfasting on sunny days.
