canal narrow boat 38 Foot Project. 1970/80 J&J Crook were very well regarded boatbuilders,solid steel boat ,good old steal,hull very good condition no welding needs doing ,it’s a sand down re paint job ,we took all the old paint off the bottom part of the boat the hull as you can see in the photos is in mint condition ,hardy even any dapples,we gave it a few coats of aluminium paint ,we have alot of paint that also comes with the boat,the top part of the boat needs sanding back and painting,Louvre windows they need a little work ,we were going to replace but they are original and they let alot of air through ,we striped out all the old floor ballasts and old insulation,we fully inspected hull whilst all ballasts where out , painted then put new ballast in insulated and solid floor down a solid large shower tray drain pump fitted ,and not much more. needs fitting out ,engine needs finishing fitting , prop shaft attaching and bits new skin tank was made ,it had an old broken saab engine when we got it ,we bought a much newer engine to fit , engine is a lister 4 cylinder diesel ,the boat just needs to be loved, it’s a blank canvas with plenty of character to build from with a solid hull new ballast and internal flooring ,no hidden suprises people buy boats because the inside looks nice then the day they bring it out of the water they find the hull is rotten and will cost thousands to repair ,main thing is the hull in boats like this ,and that is sound and solid been tested with depth machine,and best of all you can see it with your own eyes ,I also have the original brass sky vents ,feel free to message ,it’s in dry docks ATM in the Chester area ,some original art work survived on the inside of the doors which could be restored also,,I’ve added a few more photos ,so you can see how good the hull was when we striped it.,,, I’ve found more photos and have added them they are before any work began but you get an idea of the shape of front and back ,its been covered since work began out of the water so there all I have as it’s two hours away from where I live ,,, and to add a little more info ,it currently costs about 80 pounds a month to keep it in dry docks where it is ATM ,and it’s right at the side of the canal ,he has a crain in twice a year so its cheap to put back into the water ,from there I can’t see them having a problem with it staying there if the rent is taken on ,it’s a great place friendly,no reserve relisted due to putting in wrong category ,,relisted due to time waster winning the bid ,then having us run all over the country to then never even come and view the boat and tell us he’s just not in a financial position to buy ATM , please go view the boat and only bid if you actually want it please thanks it’s an amazing boat ,,and also I have a video of the engine running it won’t let me upload so just ask ,ask anything thanks ,
