Mauber is being sold as a project boat
Swanline. LENGTH: 36’. Excluding fenders with a beam of 6’
10” she was built in 1979 and has a lister engine that still start first time and runs very well . Just over 18 months ago she travelled from Worcestershire to the current mooring in Sowerby Bridge – countless locks and canals and handled it superbly
I took her out in March to have a survey and can email this to you should you wish as she does need some welding as follows
1) The stern end which is holed
must be repaired before the boat is returned to the water. The whole of this
section must be over plated. This re construction may entail the removal and re
instatement of the stern tube and shaft. A flat section on the line of the
bearing might be considered.
2) The weed hatch above the propeller
must be reconstructed and raised to bring its top to a minimum of 6” above the
waterline. This boat has been sitting very deep in the water with the stern
down approx. 8 (normally 2-3”) This could be because of the weight of the over
plating. You should investigate the removal of ballast.
3) The security of the base of the
rudder post tube should be further checked at this time.
4) The galley sink outlet (3) is
on the waterline and insecurely piped. This must be raised preferably to at least
10” above the waterline and securely piped. The existing outlet should be
welded over. See 2) above re. ballast as this could affect the height here. The
outlet (2) which is not securely blocked should also be welded over.
NBThis should cost between 800.00 and 1200 however. if you know a welder the cost will significantly reduce and if you do the removal and re
instatement of the stern tube and shaft which is not difficult you will reduce this to the cost of materials.
My intention was do completely refit the boat interior but I have no time and very little expertise
It has a new wood burning stove fitted and nice Hob with new fuse box should you wish to take a real plunge and convert to a live-aboard – There are also two water tanks at the front of the boat and pump ready to fit
It also has new chrome hand rails waiting to be fitted and new replacement lighting still in boxes
The pictures were taken this time last year and I will add some new ones now she is out of the water – she is moored at Sowerby bridge and has a mooring but as I said is currently out of the water to carry out some work – it needs repainting on the outside but was blacked 2 years ago
Please email with any questions or you can call me on 07901 337789
Please view before bidding she can be seen at Sowerby bridge
Current Price: £3000.00
