The ideal “staycation.”The listing is for a share in the narrowboat Winding Down. The price quoted is for a share comprising 2 weeks holiday every year. Two shares of two weeks are available. I am selling because I am no longer able to use the boat myself. The weeks vary but are taken in Spring and Summer, with one week taken in the off season Winter months. Holiday weeks currently scheduled are w/c 10th October 2020, 17th October 2020, 23rd January 2021, 1st May 2021. August, 4th April 2021. These dates would be made available to the new owner. There are options to take extra weeks if unused by another owner. There is a structured and fair boat usage system in place. Each owner picks their weeks by way of a list that rotates each year. Built by Elton Moss in 2009, Winding Down is in very good condition. It has a rear bedroom layout with a forward saloon, central galley and bathroom. Designed to accommodate six people. One fixed full sized double bed, another double bed in the dinette area plus another double or two single beds by converting the settee in the lounge.Central heating and a multi fuel stove. Fully equipped galley with domestic sized gas oven and separate 4 burner gas hob. Full sized fridge, small freezer. microwave and dishwasher. Washing machine/tumble dryer also on board. Plentiful storage. Two shares of two weeks, or one four week share are available for purchase. Each owner pays a sum towards maintenance and essential outgoings, ie moorings, insurance, management costs etc. Including a 24 hour/365 days a year support service. The sum is according to the number of shares owned.Sharing is much cheaper than hiring for your holiday, without the running costs of owning a boat on your own. My costs for the current year July 2020 – June 2021 are £170 per month for the four weeks. The only items not included are the fuel you personally use whilst out on the boat and cleaning at the end of your holiday. This year there are specific cleaning procedures in practice.
