For sale is our 40ft 1974 Mindon Marine Cruiser Stern Narrowboat.. BSC: Valid till 19th September 2023Very recent survey available, dated 18th Feb 2020…. We purchased this boat in Feb 2020 when we had the hull fully grit blasted , Any deep pitting welded and sections of over plating done and blacking with 3 coats of 2 pack paint (the expensive posh stuff, not bitumen).The engine which is a Lister SR2 was fully serviced and was found to have been very well looked after over the years.We also had the exhaust rebuilt with sections replaced, new alternator belt fitted and new bilge pump so the engine room is fully functioning without any problems and we have all the receipts to back up the work carried out.When we got the boat it had recently had 4 new leisure batteries fitted and they obviously hold a very good charge being new. There has been a brand new 3000 / 6000 watt peak inverter also galvanic isolator fitted by a professional marine engineer , again receipts there to back this up! The inside of the boat has been fully renovated to our taste but could easily be reconfigured or painted out however you would like.. New worktops and taps have been fitted in the kitchen, new flooring, fully painted throughout , new water pump also fitted. The boat will sleep 4 people, either with 4 single bunks or beds making up into 2 king side beds.The bathroom consists of a separate shower , pump out toilet and large sink, all fully functional. The water from the shower is taken away via a whale gulper pump, Hot water is provided by a Morco hot water heater , again in perfect working order.Kitchen has a standard sink and drainer with plenty of work space and sockets for appliances, Gas oven and hob and brand new under counter fridge with top box freezer. all in tip top working order.The boat is fitted with a Tv in the lounge area which will stay on for the sale. There is a lot of storage for everyday gear while out on the waterways also a wardrobe is sited in the middle of the boat.Traditional log burner sited at the bow of the boat which works a treat on in the cold weather..I could ramble on and on and on about the boat but im sure the questions will come flying in if ive missed anything essential . Equipment wise, the boat will come with pretty well everything needed to go out cruising , ropes, plank, poles,mooring pins etc even the mugs plates knives and forks, The whole kit is included. This really is a genuine ‘ill health forces sale’ as i have been suffering with my back for a while and its not getting any better any time soon so instead of leaving the boat to sit we are offering it up for sale to be used which is what it deserves..As above the boat has been fully sorted inside and i had started on the outside, i have managed to prep and paint the roof and the stern area until the winter closed in and more importantly but back would not allow me to carry on very well, this just leaves the bow and sides to prep and paint and the boat will be finished, couple of days of mad work and your done, the paint for the rest of the boat will be supplied in the sale too.
