Bought 4 years ago and sailed up from Bath to West London, where she was berthed in a marina for my son to live aboard. I’ve since stripped her out and removed the galley, cabin and bathroom, all of which were functional but dated. I’ve replaced the floor and floor-covering. She is now something of a blank canvas, ready for the new owner to refit to their specifications.
Ghosties is powered by a Volvo Penta 3000 MD 11D, which has just had a new starter motor and battery. She was rewired at the time of purchase and a decent 3kw inverter was installed.
She benefits from excellent quality Kinver Canopy covers, front and rear, so the bilge never sees rainwater. It’s wet at the moment as I’ve just Gunked the engine and rinsed it off. There is a very spacious area at the stern, carpeted with astro turf and another space at the bow, decked out with wood. There is also decking along the length of the roof, on which the previous owner used, apparently, to relax.
It’s nicely finished with good, wide gunnels and decent doors, front and rear. The headroom is OK for me and I’m 6 feet tall. For more photos please contact me and I’ll WhatsApp them.
When we bought the boat, we were given a folder full of the boat’s history, but I can no longer find it. Fortunately I’ve been contacted by a previous owner, who has filled in some of the blanks.
Ghosties, originally called Jewl3 was built in 1969 and was owned by the same family for 40 years. The lady who owned her from 2009 to 2013 (although she insists Ghosties is a him) modernised her. She was overplated prior to the purchase and lengthened from 40 to 42.5 feet, which is why the rear deck is so spacious.
