RE-LISTED DUE TO TIME-WASTER, who pressed buy it now,and had no intention of going through with sale!Due to this, apologies, but I wont accept offers from zero-feedbackers and a deposit of £250 to be made if unable to complete within 48hours.STOKER is a Dartline Frobisher. She has a cutlass hull which was in 2011 fully overplated to 5mm, the weedhatch was replaced at the same time.B.S.C. expires May 2025.The engine is push-start air-cooled Lister SR3.One starter and two leisure batteries. A sterling battery charger is fitted for when on mains. Electric immersion heater under bed for when on shore-power.A Morco D61B gas water heater for other occasions. There is a shower room with shower, wash basin and elsan loo.The galley has a freestanding 4 ring cooker, grill and oven, fridge and sink. (Fridge was disconnected at last BSC so needs re-connecting by someone suitably qualified.)A Boatman stove is fitted for heat for logs and coal burning. There are two beds, one single stern end and a double at bow (can be altered to seating/table etc).I paid £19,000 for the boat last June when I moved it to a mooring and just used it to relax on during the summer, The boat is nearly 50 years old, so please bear that in mind.Lots of paperwork and receipts.I am getting a lot of questions, so I will try to answer these:Q.What is the beam and head height?A. The boat is a standard narrowboat width of 2.08 Metres or 6.8 feet (Not a widebeam) and from from what I can make out 6ft headroom.Q.Is there a solar panel?A. Yes ,there is one onboard just needs connecting.Q. regarding a survey?A. the answer to that is the last one was apparently a few years ago that showed good hull thickness, I did not have one done.Q.Are there any major faults?A.Not to my knowledge, this is an honest sale, I have had about 6 boats in the past, I dont have any friends or family to cruise with now, and I cant justify the CART fees for keeping her tied up over the winter, possibly deteriorating further, when I would rather the boat be useful to someone else.Q.Is the engine ok?A.The previous owner was an ex-navy boat enthusiast who did his own servicing, I have only cruised her to her moorings and run the engine a couple of times every week to charge the batteries, but has always started at the touch of the button with no stalling or spluttering.Q.What is the overall condition?A.The boat is being sold as a loss to me, and as a project, as I dont possess the practical skills to bring her back to her former glory, some of the wood trim is rotten and could do with replacing, if it rains heavily water does enter from a spot in the roof, luckily it is directly over the drainer so it just goes into the sink,I bought some filler but never got round to doing it. Ive done some painting on the outside but would benefit from being done properly, and I imagine would benefit from another blacking. It is an unusual boat, starting off life as a hire boat in the 70s on the Thames, with a sliding roof, I have never used this, nor would I recommend, but the down sides are that there is a gap which Ive taped up to avoid leaves etc blowing in during winter, but does give extra ventilation when its hot. Due to not living on this boat or cruising, the cooker, shower, and water heater, shore line etc have not been tested or used, but I have no reason to think there are any issues. There is diesel, calor gas and even logs and coal onboard- so nothing to buy. There is a tunnel light which just clips on but stowed, and the umbrella on the chimney went for a swim in the recent storm, but Im pretty sure there is a spare onboard.Viewings very welcome before bidding. I am open to sensible offers on condition you have the funds.Stoker is currently on the Oxford canal in Rugby.Sold as seen.Cash or bank-transfer for payment please, sorry no Paypal.
