Welcome
to our Boat ‘Little Treasure’. She is a 38 foot Springer steel narrow boat built
in 1975, with a Lister ST2 engine and a simple push and pull LH150
gearbox. There is a large rear deck at the back which leads down in to
the rear saloon which has two padded benches with underneath storage that
converts into a double bed. Door on the left leads in to bathroom with
shower, hand basin and Porta-Potti toilet. This room also houses the
boiler which supplies hot water to all taps. Short corridor past bathroom with
ingenious storage drawers leads to Kitchen area.
Kitchen
area with oven, grill and four gas rings. Plenty of storage for pots and
pans. 12v fridge with small icebox section and large sink with Hot &
Cold running water. Front saloon also with underneath storage and converts into
double bed. There is a multi-fuel stove, 12v plug for TV and cupboard
space. Small double door lead in to the prow where there is
additional seating and removable cratch cover.
There are three110amp leisure batteries and one 80amp starter
battery.
Safety
certificate until 2019.
She
was taken out of the water in June 2018 and had a hull survey done. The hull
had previously been re-plated below the waterline all along both sides of the
boat. A marine engineer has now
re-welded around the old joints as recommended by the survey. The hull
survey noted a thinning of the hull around the stern of the boat above the
water line and this has now been over-plated with new steel. The boat has now
also been blacked in Aug 2018 by Hesford Marine in Lymm with 3 coats of
Intertuf paint. All in all we believe that the hull has been secured for
at least the next five years. Copies of the Hull Survey and invoices
for the work done can be viewed if you come and view the boat and I have lot’s
of photo’s of the work.
She
is currently moored at Pennington Wharf Marina at Leigh on the Leeds Liverpool
canal.
