Phoebe is a 36 foot
all steel cruiser stern narrow boat built in 1980 by Springer Engineering. Springer
narrow boats are well known throughout the canal system and have got hundreds
of people on to the water at a very reasonable cost. This particular boat has a
wonderful single cylinder Sabb water cooled diesel engine that propels the boat
along at a steady pace and has the most wonderful traditional sound. The hull
was completely over-plated about 5 years ago. The layout of the boat is as
follows; from the rear spacious deck there is a stable door which leads down to
a passage way with a shower compartment which also contains a cassette type
toilet. Then we have the sofa that converts to a double bed. Next comes the
galley with sink and drainer, cooker and hot water boiler, forward of this is open
plan. The boat has a cosy French style solid fuel stove which provides its
heating. Two front doors then lead out on to the front deck area. BSC to
