Due to covid and not being able to visit the boat or take it out.. its looking a little unloved.. could do with a good strip back and paint / fit out.. we had been concentrating on the interior of the boat pre covid. So thats not in too bad a shape but needs stuff finishing off or just back to a shell and refit how you want..
When we got it we completely took it back to one big empty room and started from there. But covid put an end to that. I have started a new job and just don’t have the time to dedicate to the boat now.. so its up for sale..
built i expect in the 80’s – when we got the boat was no information about its past. Was brought from a young man who has been cruising around London, but moving back to land so was selling up. After looking into the shape / style of the boat I assume it was maybe built in the 80’s by star line narrowboats ( the people that build Robbie’s boat from “The Canal Boat Journeys” on the BBC.
Cruiser stern with a Lister ST2 underneath. 1 starter battery and 2 Leisure batteries. Boat has had a new starter motor installed pre covid at £210 just for the motor. Due to covid the boat has not been anywhere and we still have to wire the boat up but its just 3 cables. The boat has 12v throughout with water pump, lights and 4×2 usb charging sockets. 240v installed throughout powered via shoreline with 20 socket points through the boat.
Centre doorway and hatch leads down into the kitchen area all tiled in a white and blue metro tile .. 2 solid wood worktops, on top of a Teal Gloss Ikea Kitchen, with 2 cupboard, a spirits / wine rack and a multi draw system with 2 big draws and two hidden draws inside the top draw. A deep metal sink and tap with a under counter dishwasher hidden under the sink – saves time spent washing up a LPG cooker with 4 hob and oven. Removed the old lpg system to install a new bulkhead fitting and bubble tester ( £80) but have not got round to having it re connected. And a 240v fridge freezer. Steps are built with storage underneath as top moves moves to access oven an can be completed moved out the way if needed. Flooring has been replaced from rear to the front half of the boat, removed the marine board and installed marine pine floorboards that cost Apox £400 just for the wood.
The bathroom is next. This was out last project before covid.. hot water powered by a 6l 240v electric heater powers sink and shower. A new gulper pump was installed at £150 and has never been used only to test it. A Tetford Portable Toilet and boat shelving unit on the one side and a shower room on the other, wall to ceiling pvc metro wall sheeting, for waterproof. A mosaic tiled floor still has the sealant residue on the tiles but could come back nicely. A little bathroom stand i have added the spare tiles to to match the theme of the bathroom. And a overhead shower and curtain rail.
Next the open plan living room with a log burner, keeps the boat very warm when needed. Removed the hearth to redo with new tiles so its only resting in place. And will need a new glass in the fire. Open plan living room, in the past it has had 2 seat sofa which was replaced by 2 reclining chairs so easy to suite your taste.
The bed has been built so it lifts providing under bed storage, also the water tank is housed under the front of the bed. The bed has been changed around a few times and currently has its rear legs removed and is sitting on top of another storage unit to make the most out of the bed area.. the boat has had in its past a professional extension fitted so its only 1 door at the back with a lovely window and hatch fitted above the bed area. Lovely in the summer to look out whilst on the bed and gets lots of fresh air through in the warm summers.
The outside has not really been touched at all.. roof was painted white along with one side. But needs redoing really.. the other side is original. And the rear boards have been painted but again will need re doing.. all the interior leftover paint 3 shades of grey is included, and the blue for the boards at the back.
I don’t have a recent survey for the boat. It was blackened around 4 years ago now. And had its survey last year so still has 3 years remaining. Any questions please ask and will try and answer the best i can
Boat is moored in Lichfield ws13 area on the Trent and Mersey Canal, 2 miles from Fradley junction with the Coventry canal, and a few miles from the Shropshire union. We brought the boat back from Brentford London, and over 7 days we did the 100+ miles and locks easily.
