This is my neighbour’s 1970’s narrowboat. She has a steel hull, wooden sides and fibreglass top. The exact year of manufacture is unknown. She’s 36 feet long, 6’10” wide. The Beta engine is by far the best part of the boat. However, it was last seen running about 18 months ago and is no longer connected to a battery to test, so sold as untested. Not sure which Beta it is, but looks like a 38 from the angle I could see it at (I’ve a Beta 38 in my boat and it looks the same). The boat is a shell. She’s listing badly, has water in the bilge, presumably from the stern gland. She’ll need taking straight out the water by the new owner. The roof leaks. The inside is in a terrible state, but is ready to be ripped out and started again. No electrics to speak of. The junk inside will be removed before you take ownership. The owner knows very little about the boat unfortunately or its history. We’re trying to find out about it at the moment. If you want to have a look around, give me a ring on 07456810181 and we’ll arrange a viewing. Boat is at Cranfleet canal, Long Eaton. You will need to collect the boat from here, but we could potentially tow her onto the Trent and Mersey canal, perhaps to Sawley Marina using my boat.No returns, boat is sold as is – a floating shell in desperate need of repair and renovation. Payment by cash, bank transfer or cheque. Cheques have to clear fully before you can take the boat. Cash or bank transfer preferred.
