SPRING DEW was launched in 1998 as an ‘Ownerships’ syndicate boat, but is now self managed and shared by 12 owner families. It sleeps up to six, measures 58′ 6″ in length with 6’ 8” headroom, much more than normal, and has a semi-traditional stern. It is luxuriously appointed with many extras including TV, DVD, radio and microwave oven.In fine weather passengers can enjoy the view sitting out on cushions on the foredeck. The large front ‘patio’ doors are double glazed and lead into the lounge area furnished with two armchairs which can be turned into single beds.Beyond the galley is the main bathroom, containing corner bath with shower, pump-out toilet and basin. With both solid fuel stove and central heating all rooms are kept lovely and warm, even in the coldest winter, and both boiler and engine supply lashings of hot water for a luxury bath or shower. The master bedroom is beyond the bathroom. It has a fixed bed (extends to king-size) with drawers under, a wardrobe and en-suite toilet/basin, which can double as extra storage space. From the bedroom steps lead up to the semi-traditional aft deck. As well as the helmsman there is room here for three or four others, with cushioned seat for two. THE DINETTE comprises two bench seats and table with drop down flap. Two swivel stools are used when seating six people. At night the table can be removed and the seats turned into a double bed. Beyond the dinette is the galley, which is arranged in a ‘U’ formation and is opposite a side opening hatch, a useful source of light and cooling breeze in the summer. The galley has a work surface on either side with cooker and sink in the middle. As well as the full cooker with four burners, oven and grill there is fridge, microwave oven and plenty of cupboard spaceManagement is by a four person management panel which answers to the syndicate as a whole. A full owners’ meeting is held each year in the autumn, when panel members put up for re-election and other major decisions are made. Priority of booking moves round in rotation, owners moving two places up the booking chart each year. First to pick are any special shares (who pay an extra maintenance premium for school holiday weeks). Then, starting from the top, the other owners each pick 2 summer weeks and 1 winter week. There is an opportunity to book extra weeks later, this time chosen in reverse order.Mooring and Maintenance costs per twelfth share are in the region of £1000 per year. Owners pay for their own weekly running costs i.e. diesel, gas, smokeless fuel and pump-outs – also valeting if they don’t wish to do it themselves. If an owner brings a pet onboard, then a Pet-Valet must be booked. A valet service is available on Fridays, the start and end day booked weeks. We are a close knit group of owners, all willing to do our bit to look after the boat and make things as enjoyable as possible for the benefit of all ownersThrough shared ownership we are regularly able to enjoy the beauty of the English Waterways at a fraction of the normal cost of hiring.Any questions or offers please feel free to give me a call or a message any time on 07568 707 743
