Traditional Narrow Boat For sale
48ft Length 6.9ft width (2ft 3 draft(
The Narrow Boat was built in the 1990’s by the West Ridings boat Company and has folders of history, it was purchased and used as a leisure craft and the previous owner used her as a liveaboard.
We purchased the boat with the idea of a project, painting the exterior and refit inside during the lockdown however due to the birth of our daughter and life resuming we no longer have the time needed to work on her.
We cruised her from her original moorings from Ely to Peterborough and to be honest the boat was too big for us to handle, a family member who is experienced with Narrow boats helped and said she handles perfectly, apparently we just needed practice but we decided with a new baby narrow boating isn’t for us.
She is sold as a project and does need work, she is functioning and could be used as is if you like the rustic living or with some time and money could be fitted out to be a great liveaboard.
The boat had a hull survey in June 2019 with remedial works completed in July 2019,making it a blank canvas as a project.
The stern is a comfortable area with good visibility, the engine is accessed through the floor panel and houses a BMC 1.5 Water cooled Marine Engine.
As you enter the boat there is tall sure line fridge freezer with plenty of space for food and ice cream! to right is a the Vectron 12v to 240v inverter and control panels, I haven’t worked out what all of these do but I know there is a solar panel connected that the previous owner advised this was sufficient when living on board.
As you move forward there is a dinning area with real wood fire that I was advised provides sufficient heat for the boat.
This leads to the Galley kitchen. The kitchen area has a Gas boiler, cooker and microwave. And follows through to a corridor leading to the wet room.
The wet room is fitted with shower sink and we purchased but not used a Thetford ceramic toilet with 2 cassettes and electronic flush. This is brand-new and unused.
Further along the corridor is the master bedroom with day bed that pulls out to a comfortable double and front doors leading to what could be a nice seating area.
She is due for a safety inspection as this expired this month, I don’t see any issues with a new certificate being issued, if we were keeping her I would of completed the refit and then arranged a new inspection.
She is being sold as a project whilst usable she does need a good clean. We had rain water ingress over the spring as the boat was left unattended for several months and the roof gunnels had blocked with leaves and debris so the rain water couldn’t drain from the roof correctly and entered the rear cabin, I have cleared these but some further investigation is wise.
The boat is moored in Peterborough and would need to be viewed there, it is advertised elsewhere and will be sold on a first come basis.
