Unfinished project: Cruiser stern 55ft Narrowboat designed as a liveaboard for one person.Poor health forces sale and asking price could be negotiable, but only on site after viewing.Pictures loaded are old, I will get some new ones.Could be lived in quite quickly, majority of painting, internal panelling, ballast, flooring, windows, bed, lights, Solar panel, tanks etc etc all in place & finishing works could be completed on site subject to Landlords approval which I think would not be with held unreasonably.I am also happy to discuss doing some additional work (my health issue is only a problem if I lived on board & continuous cruised as I always intended.) I’m also happy to keep plodding along if no one shows interest at a reasonable price. Sorry but not interested in silly offers or people with no money. So happy to answer email questions on anything apart from price.Designed from the outset to be as light & bright as
possible, with plenty of headroom(over 6ft) plenty of windows & 4 large rooflights. Almost
completely open plan. except for bathroom/toilet which is at stern end
& all internal panelling is painted in a beige 2 pack acrylic finish that wipes
clean.Steel (10-6-3)Cruiser stern hull built in Stilton, exterior shot blasted up to the gunnel & primed with high zinc content industrial primer then painted with twinpack acrylic paint. Requires blacking being brushed on, which I have. Interior of steel was all cleaned/wire brushed & painted. Sides & roof then insulated in spray foam. All panelling in best birch ply, edged with Iroko .2.25 tonnes of ballast is concrete, covered with 7/8″ Pine plywood with a 10mm air gap between.Flooring laid in part, hardwood, whats not laid I have.4ft wide bed with bespoke 6ft 6″ long mattress at bow end. Has a large painted steel water tank under, with insulation on top & then birch ply bed base. Bed permanent & on the r/hand side so you can walk down beside it to Iroko framed hemlock double glazed doors that open out onto a small front deck, covered by a bespoke cratch cover with zip up sides. Under hardwood decking is a small compartment I was going to put a diesel generator & fuel tank in. Oversize bow thruster tube fitted in here as well. Boat bow incorporates a water tank & is plumbed into boat.I have the engine setup I had intended fitting. 2 litre Industrial VW with a clever hydraulic pump in place of a gearbox. Engine rev’s at set rpm, as quietly as possible & forward/reverse/speed control is all via adjusting hydraulic pressure. Not difficult, most industrial/farm machinery now uses such a system because they are quieter, can very virtually vibration free & are very fuel efficient.Stern tube, prop shaft & propellar are in place. Engine & pump will fit crossways at bow end of stern engine bay so you can climb down inside for maintenance. I have the drive motor & a variety of hydraulic hoses/pipes/fittings/valves that should do most of the installation. engine & pump are not fitted though bearers are sorted. Would need to be lowered in, marked up, removed so bearers can be welded in place. Bespoke hydraulic tank made. You could however install a normal Engine/gearbox set up if you had one/wanted to.I repeat that I am not interested in discussions re price until you have viewed. I have nearly everything needed to complete the fit out, if you wanted it all, I wouldn’t reduce the price much. I’m of an age where my family tell me being grumpy whilst not necessarily good, is common. Ask about price and I will probably delete your email so I don’t get grumpy.I can show you the boat daytimes or eveningsmon to saturday or late on sundays & am fairly sure I’m not really grumpy, though I am less patient with fools than I used to be. I had to move the boat recently & now have access to a man who can load & transport it anywhere in the country.
