Viking 26 Centre Cockpit Motor
Cruiser
We are readvertising this motorboat due to people
viewing it, sometimes with no idea of what they really want, nor having the
money, so wasting their time and ours.
When we were first looking to buy a boat, we
viewed some that looked great in the photos – but when we went to see them,
they were absolute sh****rs. The photos were probably taken years before when
it was in much better condition. Maybe some of the people who came to see our
cruiser were expecting the same, making those arrangements when they don’t have
anywhere near the asking price, perhaps expecting to do a deal and do the boat
up themselves later.
If that is what you are thinking when reading this advert,
please do not waste your time or ours. This
boat is not for you
On the other hand, if you are looking for a
cruiser to use as a day boat, weekender, or even longer, one you can use in
summer or the depths of winter, then read on. If you want to just put your
stuff and some food on, then this is the cruiser for you.
We bought this boat in late 2015 from a company
specialising in refurbishing Viking cruisers. It had been refurbished inside
and out in a proper workshop and the on-line advert is still available on
You-tube.
It is 6-berth, twin-cabin, centre cockpit. It has
a toilet/shower room, with toilet included.
The forward cabin has a double bed berth in the bow,
or remove the centre panel for seating . A second double-bed uses the
demountable table in the dinette. The rear cabin has seating or can be made
into another double-bed. This cabin has en-suite washing facilities.
The cockpit has two almost brand-new seats. This
is a right-hand drive, with a fridge in a cupboard under the second seat.
It was a standard basic-build 26CC when we bought
it. It has the demountable windscreen, with wipers. There is plenty of storage
in cupboards, pantry cupboard, clothing drawers, wardrobe, under-bed storage,
plus hold. Bilges and hold space are completely dry.
Since we have had it, we have made considerable upgrades
to it.

put your personal stuff and food on board and sail away. It comes with ten side
fenders, mooring lines, two mooring pins, club hammer, lock windlass,
shoreline, 2 x gas bottles, ballast boxes, plus spares for engine etc. It has a
boat Safety Certificate until 2021. It is licenced until June 2019.a mooring is
included at Garstang Marina if required.
We
have had three professional valuations done. The lowest was £12,000 and the
highest £15,0oo. We are asking £11,995.
If you are genuinely interested, please phone 07850 009 258 for a chat, and a
viewing. Do not confuse this boat with cheaper options that have not had all
these extras and improvements. It is what we say it is.
This
boat is available with a berth at Garstang Marina
The Lancaster is reckoned to be one of the best
canals. Mostly like a river, with no locks on the main sections, this is especially
suited to newcomers. Access is available from near Preston to the majority of
the national canal network.
Garstang Marina is considered by most boat people
to be the best marina on the Lancaster, and has a long waiting list for
moorings. However, the existing berth can be kept (subject to meeting with the
owners first) for less than £900 a year at current rates and without going onto their ever-long waiting list. This marina,
with its extensive landscaped grounds, is situated at roughly mid-point on the
Lancaster and has a good, safe, community spirit amongst the owners. Some
owners are permanent residents.
Marina
facilities include:
Vehicle parking right by
your boat (no trekking your stuff from a distant car park)
Space for visitor parking
Pet-friendly
Water tap by the berth (no
moving the boat to go to a water point)
240v electricity to every
