ZIRA II : Wilderness Towable Rat live aboard cruiser canal / river boatExtremely unique and very cute 1970’s GRP hull mini narrow boat, real head turner, comfortably liveable as is light project to finish and enjoy this summer. All she needs is lick of paint and a few easy DIY tasks. She’s just 7m long yet packed with many features some larger boats may lack thanks to her exceptionally clever design. She’s larger inside than you think, has 175cm headroom – allows to stand straight, slept 3 people in a double bed with ease, and packs all your belongings from a double room on land, no problem.Minimal running, insurance and registration costs, easy to steer and moor in any gap available by just one person. Now with brand new BSS certificate covering next 4 years from July.Has 350L water tank, running cold and hot water from dual power electric boiler (12V or 240V from shore where available), large dishwashing basin, shower, manual sea toilet, two independent bilge pumps – one is well renown Gulper which also removes your shower waste water, another is fully automatic SEAFLO 750 L, more than sufficient for a boat twice her size, operated from a separate and always fully charged battery with its own dedicated solar panel.Internal 12V LED low consumption cabin lightning, separate 12V and 240V installations done professionally and with fuseboxes.Shore power 240V hookup400W worth of German dual purpose solar panels with additional property – when connected to the water system these will also pre-heat your water (less power to be drawn from batteries).4 solid leisure batteries grouped in 2×2 so you always have a fresh and fully charged set if you want a bath.Iconica 240V intelligent inverter/solar charge controller (very high tech 2-in-1 solution) and a separate solar charge controller, to limit power use when not onboard or no need to use Inverter.Freeview HD Ready LED TV/DVD player combo.Fridge with a mini freezer shelf.Electric oil radiator.Home security level expandable modular alarm system and GPS tracker.Diesel 10L tank for burner/heater with copper pipe coil direct to heating pipes and water wall radiators – these are waiting to be connected, but even without them the burner kept the cabin hot up to 30C for up to 2 cold winter nights (was sometimes so hot I had to wake up and regulate down to be able to sleep). Radiators role will be further cost reduction and more even heat distribution – from the other side of your bed. Now the same tank would last a week and more just to tickle over one drop of diesel every 4-5 seconds.Completely redesigned new interior furniture layout that allowed me to move in straight from my previous large double bedroom with all belongings.Double bed with massive storage under and in overhanging locker, full size long raincoat fitting wardrobe, huge shoe storage, lockable shelving under kitchen work top, external ropes/fuel/battery storage under rear deck, under toilet storage, under stairs storage. Takes more than you’d fit in a small van and only gets more stable under more load.Tourist bottle camping stove and the diesel heater can also serve as separate cooking stove.Recently serviced (cleaned, tuned, greased, gearbox marine oil changed, new spark plugs fitted) Johnson/Evinrude 6hp 2-stroke outboard, running smooth and in service since 1968.Hull is perfect, completely water tight, fibreglass/resin composite resistant to rust and can take a lot of weight (on empty the whole boat shouldn’t far exceed half a ton as she is now and was easily transported on a trailer and lowered by crane in Uxbridge). At the moment moored on Grand Union Canal in Perivale.Due to lightweight and compact design will easily fit on flatbed trailer or dropside van to transfer to any location of your choice._____________I have comfortably lived on this boat in real nice areas like Notting Hill or Paddington for over a year after I bought her last April and that alone saved me over £6000 as before that I used to rent a large double bedroom in Hammersmith paying £140/week. The total living cost in fees per year on the canal is ~£200 insurance + £500 Canal and River licence. Safety certificate I have just renewed was £190 and will expire in 4 years time (valid till July 2023). Paint to complete decorating included if sells as is.Selling since I am moving back abroad, cannot keep things that hold me here.Must go, one off opportunity to buy her in unfinished state and with this low starting price – if she doesn’t sell this time, I will finish decorating and the starting price will go up significantly. If price doesn’t reach £5000 I may keep the solar and leave you with smaller 60W panels to install yourself. If you use Buy it Now, I will drop in additional near new 4-stroke 6hp Mariner outboard (currently removed from boat) worth £600+ and more EXTRAS.You will not find another boat of her kind and with all the features included.Photos included today show the boat as she was last summer, new photos of the re-designed interior will be added soon.

Relisted thanks to bidder blutkurt88 who wasn’t so kind to cancel his bid before listing ended… so don’t be like Bulut, who is now banned from bidding in my listings, received adequate feedback and was reported as non paying bidder. Please only bid with the intent and means to pay and collect really very soon (ideally till Wednesday next week), as I have a friends’ wedding coming next Friday and can’t afford waste more time. Relisted for the only one time as a project – this is your only opportunity to buy as unfinished project and that means cheaper. If it doesn’t sell this time, it will take me a while, but I’ll finish the job myself and get more money off you.
Current Price: £3500.00
