This is one of a series of boats made on the Lizard in Cornwall from a mould based on a traditional wooden beach boat. It feels amazingly roomy and stable for it’s size and will comfortably take 4 or even 5 people. It is a lovely boat to row, and there is a rudder with folding tiller for use when rowing. The top mounting for the rudder is removed when the outboard is used. The hull shape means the outboard propellor is safely tucked up above the bottom of the keel, making it ideal for shallow rivers and estuaries.
I completely stripped and refurbished the boat two years ago and have only used it for holidays since. Outside the hull is painted with the Epiphanes marine paint system. The inside and the gunnels are finished with fibreglass topcoat. Underneath there is a full-length hardwood keel with stainless steel keelband plus tough nylon bilge runners, so it can be safely run up a beach or slipway. The trailer was also refurbished with new rollers, bearings, wheels and tyres.
The motor is a late 1990s two cylinder two-stroke – the smoothest and quietest small outboard ever made and was serviced last year. If the engine is not wanted I can reduce the price by £250.
