We have for sale a
traditional Turkish Gulet Yacht ‘Yurdagul’ that is currently moored in Fethiye Turkey.
The yacht was my parents who unfortunately passed away earlier this year
which is the reason for sale. They have owned the yacht for around 20 years and
spent at least 3-4 months a year living on board. It really was their paradise sailing around
the beautiful Turkish blue crystal-clear waters. We are hopefully now going to find a buyer
that wants to continue the boats legacy as my parents did and create years of
special memories in this magical place.
Fethiye is a port city, and district, on Turkey’s
southwestern Turquoise Coast. It’s known for its natural harbour, blue waters
and numerous rock tombs including the 4th-century B.C. Tomb of Amyntas, carved
into a bluff overlooking the city. Near-shore islands are popular for day trips
by boat. In the south, the beach at Ölüdeniz is sheltered by a lagoon, and
Butterfly Valley is a designated nature reserve. All of the most beautiful areas are easily
sailed to. I have attached a few photos but
please look on google images to see how much this beautiful area on the
turquoise coast has to offer.
My parents formed a
strong relationship with a Turkish gentleman who lives in Fethiye and has
looked after and maintained the yacht for the past 10 years. He owns a Turkish Gulet building company so
he certainly knows his was around the yacht.
He really is a God send and can’t do enough to help you out. This friendship has been invaluable to them over
the years. Particularly in the latter
years and he still keeps a watchful eye over the yacht when out of the country and
services the yacht. Earlier on this year
we went on our final trip and discussed our intentions to sell after my parents
passing and this is a relationship he would love to continue with the new
buyers. He will also be available to do
any viewings. He will take you out on
the yacht on viewing and he will give you the best advice on the areas, waters,
regulations etc. Local knowledge and friendships
are key when buying a boat abroad especially if used on a holiday basis.
Another avenue
which we never considered but is certainly a possibility could be using the
boat as a business to do day trip hire etc.
Either way it’s a fantastic,
solid and well looked after boat and as previously mentioned it has been used
as a home from home so it’s very well maintained. It has had a recent refurbish in 2017. We have priced the boat very competitively in
comparison to similar models that are upwards of £50k to ensure a quick sale. The
boat is advertised on several websites.
