I am relisting my dad’s boat, as I’d thought I’d sold it locally, but was let down.It is up for sale again so my apologies to those who bid previously and did not win it. We have found out some more information on it, it is a Concept 17, which was based of an old American sailing boat called a star shooter.It has been unused since he passed away 8 years ago. He bought it new and it was only used for one season on the water.It is un painted and still in its original gel coat..which has some signs of bubbles where it’s been laid over on its side.It has a beautiful wine glass transom and a very deep keel which has a thick heavy steel strip along the bottom..It needs someone to give it some tlc and bring it back to a fine boat as it was when he had it.It is 17’6″ long and 6’6″ wide.It’s a very heavy boat and will need a good heavy duty trailer with a winch to come and get it.The engine is a mariner 8hp two stroke which I have not started as i have no fuel tank or water tank to try it…It pulls over with plenty of compression but that’s all I can tell you about it. Only, it was running fine before it was laid up in his garage..Bare in mind this boat has been laid up out side for 8years and shows signs of wood deterioration on mast support and wooden hatch covers.However the mahogany gunwales are very good and just need sanding and oiling..The wooden coller mast and boom look like new as been stored indoors. Also the sails have by all accounts been used only once.I am selling the boat as I do not have the time or interest to do it up.This is a rear opportunity to buy a potentially fine boat at a very cheap price.I am starting the auction off at 99p with a very fair reserve price..I have advertised the boat elsewhere so have the right to remove it from auction if it sells..If you need any more info you can phone my mobile 07583339330.
