1974 Hurley 24/70 Fin Keel Sailing YachtFor sale by Hurley Owners Club Member.The Hurley 24/70 is small but spacious 24ft/7m offshore cruiser with 4 good 6ft+ berths, good standing headroom and very good seakeeping qualities. Around 200 were built in the early 1970’s. This particular example has a fin keel with 1.25m draught and skeg hung rudder. The boat is lying afloat on a deep water mooring in Southampton but can be brought into a local marina for viewing. Last lifted and professionally antifouled September 2020, all seacocks serviced and engine inlet replaced. Sail number 118.Engine:Economical Volvo 2010 10hp two cylinder diesel, recently serviced including a rebuilt water pump, and starts first press of the button every time. Cutlass bearing replaced Sept 2020 and stern gland repacked at same time. 40l fuel tank currently full and treated with ‘Fuel Set’. Motors at around 5 kts at cruising speed.Sails:Main sail with 2 reefs and blue canvas sail cover and furling genoa with blue UV strip. Both sails are in a servicable condition. Assymetric spinnaker/cruising chute but currently no halyhard fitted.Rigging:Original mast and boom. Standing rigging age unknown but appears to be quite recent, all running rigging replaced and optimised late 2020.Interior:Sea toilet replaced 2020 with new Johnson heads and all new pipework. Never been used yet! Origo 2 burner spirit cooker in galley and s/s sink. Currently no water tank fitted. V berth in forepeak with infill to make a double. 2 single berths in main cabin.Electrical/navionics;Two batteries, one engine, one domestic (new 2020), LED navigation and interor lights. Masthead tricolour light. Garmin GPS black and white chart plotter, Cobra DSC VHF Radio with masthead antenna. Plastimo bulkhead compass. NASA Clipper Duet, speed and depth. Wired for Raymarine tiller pilot and fittings on tiller.Extreior:Coachroof and cockpit in orignal gel coat, the hull has been handpainted but its okay. At some point the below waterline area was treated with International Gelshield and there are few signs of osmosis if any. New double rail pushpit fitted 2020. New hull windows and perspex washboards fitted 2020. 4 good fenders and mooring ropes included.Safety:Lifebouy, anchor and chain, manual bilge pump, electric bilge pump, fire extinguisher, anchor ball and motoring cone.In summary a nice little sailing boat that has undergone lots of recent work and is ready to sail away but has room for further cosmetic improvements by the new owner.
