A very solid example of a Van de Stadt Pionier 9 yacht. The boat has been left idle for a few years and my plan was to get her sailing again but I’ve run out of time/weather and have to pass her on to someone else. The photos are all current and untouched (this isn’t Tinder for boats). Freshly primed and antifouled. I’ve not been able to start the engine (Volvo Pent 2001). It turns over perfectly and the injector has been tested and passed (I can provide the cert). The compression was low, so I’ve replaced the piston rings, head gasket, and I’ve lapped the valves and seats. It also has new fuel and oil filters. Oh, and a new 110AmpHr marine battery. There is no key, but a screwdriver turns the ignition.A full wardrobe of sails, all in good cruising condition. Roller-furling headsail. There may be need of a shackle here and there, and the traveller could do with re-seating, but overall there’s not a lot needed to go sailing.There are no modern electronics on board (except for the autotiller). I always sail with a laptop for nav, and will leave the GPS dongle on board. 2 ring and grill gimbled gas cooker and a sink. Large water tanks on board too. 5 berths: 2 in the fo’c’sle, the saloon berth folds out to a very spacious double, and a single quarter berth that no-one will ever want to use :-)Brand new things include: 110Amp marine battery, 10Kg Bruce style anchor, 400w invertor, battery charger, and the GPS dongle. The boat is not perfect and is sold as a project, although, as you can see from the photos, it could be a “project afloat.” Lots of tools, spares, ropes, cruising books etc., scattered throughout the boat.The Pionier 9 were designed with the Fastnet in mind, and they have won several races in their class and will happily cross an ocean. Rather than talk about what a great boat they are, just search online and you’ll find nothing but good reviews and comments.Bottom line is that I’m out of time, and the boat has to go. Sale includes a launch into the water or a lift onto transport. The boat is on the hard in a marina at the moment, but needs to be moved within a couple of weeks of purchase.These boats are real sailor’s boats and are selling for around £5k. The engine alone is worth £800 as a non-runner and twice that when it runs. So please only bid if you have the money and are serious.
